On May 21, the Ninh Binh Provincial Labor Federation organized a conference to collect opinions from officials, union members, and workers on the Draft Political Report and the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union submitted to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
At the conference, there were 12 opinions and contributions to the Draft Political Report and Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union submitted to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, which were directly contributed by trade union officials and employees.
Opinions and contributions mainly focused on contents such as: financial management, trade union assets; union member development, establishment of grassroots trade unions in enterprises; organization of patriotic emulation movements, focusing on the movement of good labor, high productivity, good income; innovation and improvement of organizational models and apparatus of trade unions at all levels; propaganda and education of union members and workers to comply with the law, build and protect the Fatherland...
Contributing opinions to the Draft Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union on trade union financial management, Ms. Do Thi Bich Phuong - Chairwoman of Yen Khanh Commune Trade Union said that in the Charter of the Trade Union, the asset part should clearly stipulate the management mechanism and decentralization of asset management according to the regulations on public assets and which assets are managed according to the provisions of law and the regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Regarding the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions in enterprises, Mr. Dinh The Hung - Chairman of Gia Van Commune Trade Union said that the Draft Political Report submitted to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress has fairly comprehensively and closely assessed the practical work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions in the past term.
It can be affirmed that trade union levels have made many efforts, innovated approaches, strengthened propaganda and mobilization, thereby the number of union members continues to increase, and the grassroots trade union network is gradually expanded, especially in the non-state business sector.
However, Mr. Hung also proposed that the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union continue to identify the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots trade unions as key tasks throughout the term.
There must be appropriate mechanisms, policies and resources (both human and material) to support grassroots trade unions, especially in the non-state business sector. It is necessary to place the legitimate rights and needs of workers as a starting point and a consistent goal in union member development. Union member development must be closely linked to improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities, avoiding running after pure quantity. At the same time, promote digital transformation in union member management and trade union activities.
