Ms. Trinh Thi Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Alena Vietnam Shoe Co., Ltd. (in Thanh Hoa) said that for many years, the company's Trade Union has maintained a program to visit and support union members and workers in difficult circumstances. On average, each month, the company's Trade Union selects 5 cases in difficult circumstances for support. Every 2 months, the working delegation will go to the homes of about 10 union members. Each case is given 4 million VND in cash and a gift.
After about 3 years of implementation, the program has visited and supported nearly 180 union members and workers, with a total amount of hundreds of millions of VND.
Most of the selected cases are in particularly difficult circumstances, sick or unfortunately injured in accidents and incidents. When we directly go to the family, we understand more about life and the difficulties that workers are facing, thereby having appropriate encouragement and support" - Ms. Nguyet shared.
According to the Chairman of the Trade Union of Alena Vietnam Shoe Co., Ltd., the direct visit of trade union officials to the house is not only to provide material support. More importantly, to make workers feel the concern and sharing from the Trade Union organization and businesses when facing difficulties.
One of the cases recently supported is Ms. Le Thi Huong, a union member working at the company. Ms. Huong has congenital hearing and speech disabilities, and her family life has encountered many upheavals. After the divorce, she brought her child to live with her maternal family.
Knowing her circumstances, at the end of August 2026, representatives of the Trade Union and Alena Vietnam Shoe Co., Ltd. directly visited her family, encouraged and provided support, hoping that she would gradually overcome difficulties and stabilize her life.
Also on this occasion, the company's trade union visited 8 other union member families. Each person has their own circumstances, some are in difficult circumstances due to illness, some families have to take care of young children or shoulder the additional responsibility of raising relatives after unexpected events.
Joining hands when union members encounter adversity
Ms. Le Thi Dung's family - a worker in the Pha Cutting department, Workshop 10 - is one of the cases visited by the company's Trade Union. After her husband's accident, most of the family's economic burden fell on Ms. Dung's shoulders. Previously, her husband worked as a construction worker, but after the accident, he suffered hip necrosis and had to undergo joint replacement surgery at a high cost. Up to now, her husband's travel is still facing many difficulties, and his working ability is limited. Meanwhile, the family has 3 children to care for, and the main source of income depends on Ms. Dung's work at the factory.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong - Deputy Head of Human Resources Department, Alena Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. - shared: "Working at the factory, many times we only know workers through daily work. But when we go to their homes, we see that behind each worker there is still a family and many worries. There are cases that it is difficult to imagine that they are facing such great difficulties from the outside.
In addition to the periodic visit program, the Trade Union of Alena Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. also launched union members and employees throughout the company to join hands to support particularly serious cases, such as workers who have accidents or die.
The mobilization campaigns all received the response of a large number of union members and workers. In some cases, the amount of money collected and supported by officials, union members and workers in the company reached hundreds of millions of VND.
