Affirming the role of party members and Party cell
In 1994, when she turned 20, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Linh applied to work as a worker at JUKI Vietnam Co., Ltd. (specializing in the production of sewing machines, located in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Ho Chi Minh City).
At that time, Ms. Linh had just graduated from high school. Realizing that she had to improve her qualifications to develop, in 2009, Ms. Linh went to study a bachelor's degree in applied law at the same time as she studied, and graduated in 2015. Immediately after graduating, the company transferred her to the company's purchasing department.
A turning point in Ms. Linh's life was her admission to the Party in 2010, when only 7 Party members were in the company's Party Cell. After 2 years of efforts, Ms. Linh was trusted to be elected as the Party Cell Secretary of the company; currently the Party Cell has 23 Party members.
Ms. Linh shared that as a Party member, especially the Party Cell Secretary in foreign-invested enterprises (FDI), she also encountered many difficulties because foreign enterprises had not focused on promoting the activities of the Party, mainly only caring about the efficiency of production activities.
To help businesses see that the Party organization is beneficial to businesses, as a secretary, Ms. Linh and other Party members are exemplary in performing the tasks and regulations of the business, and at the same time launch the implementation of many emulation movements among Party members and Party cells associated with business activities.
"For example, the Party cell launched the planting of trees to improve the environment and even though the enterprise allowed us to work during working hours, we still organized extracurricular activities so as not to affect work. Small actions help businesses feel more sympathetic to the Party cell" - Ms. Linh shared.
In 2015, Ms. Linh, as the group leader, and Party cell members of the Party cell, established the " Sun Rising" group with 6 members who are Party members, launching the initiative "C fixing product errors when sewing" to participate in the quality improvement contest organized by JUKI Group.
This initiative benefits the company by nearly 8,000 USD/year, helping to enhance its reputation with customers and win the First Prize of the JUKI Group. In 2022, the Party cell continued to implement the initiative of using company sewing machines and sewing waste fabric into baby dresses, and also won the Excellent Award from JUKI Group in the competition.
"Now, if party members have an invitation to attend a meeting during working hours, the enterprise will still pay them full salaries" - Ms. Linh excitedly said.
Caring for union members and workers
As Party cell secretary and Vice President of the Trade Union of JUKI Vietnam Co., Ltd., Ms. Linh has many activities to promote businesses to care for workers. Ms. Linh and the Executive Board of the Trade Union have proactively discussed with the enterprise management, organized meetings and dialogues with employees to promptly resolve employees' problems, improve working conditions, material and cultural life for employees. The company also ensures periodic salary increases, adjusts regional minimum wages for employees, and correctly and fully pays social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance for all employees of the company.
At the same time, Ms. Linh actively mobilizes female workers to participate in emulation movements, supporting the women's work topic at Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park and encouraging workers to study to improve their qualifications and increase their income.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Dai - Chairman of the Trade Union of JUKI Vietnam Co., Ltd. - commented: "Ms. Linh is a Party Cell Secretary, a union cadre who is always exemplary in her work, has many initiatives in the production and business activities of the company; cares for and cares for union members and employees. Ms. Linh's actions have contributed to helping businesses highly appreciate the role of Party cells, Party members, and Trade Unions in the business, and be trusted by employees".
For her work, Ms. Linh has received many certificates of merit from the Management Board and the Party Committee of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City; she is one of 95 outstanding workers who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam who have just been honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025).
