Female principal devoted to her students for nearly 30 years

After nearly 30 years of working in the profession, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen - Principal of An Khanh Secondary School - Hanoi City has not only pioneered in bringing the school into digital transformation but also always given to students the love of children.

Schools in the mindset of digital transformation

Ms. Huyen graduated from Ha Tay Pedagogical College in 1997, then worked as a teacher at Van Con Secondary School (An Khanh Commune, Hanoi). Through many positions, from November 2017 to present she has been the Principal of An Khanh Secondary School.

As a school leader, Ms. Huyen believes that educators today face both advantages and difficulties. The advantage is that the educational innovation policy is of interest, facilities and digital transformation are heavily invested; teachers are supported with many management platforms, learning materials and teaching software, helping to save time and improve quality. The team also has a high spirit of self-study and is increasingly knowledgeable about technology.

The difficulty lies in the requirement to innovate the 2018 general education program, forcing teachers to continuously adapt and innovate methods. Management staff have to shoulder more tasks, requiring regular updating of knowledge on digital transformation, school safety, and quality assessment.

In addition, the development of AI increases the risk of student cheating, requiring teachers to understand and use AI properly so as not to fall behind.

In the current digital transformation period, An Khanh Secondary School focuses on applying modern technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to teaching - learning and management activities. The exploitation and implementation of digital platforms, learning support software (OLM), electronic exam banks and AI tools help teachers innovate teaching methods, increase visualiteness and personalize the learning process of students.

The school regularly organizes training, improving digital capacity for the teaching staff... These efforts contribute to creating a modern educational ecosystem, helping students develop comprehensively in knowledge, skills and digital thinking, said Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen.

After nearly 30 years of working in the education sector, Ms. Huyen has many happy and sad memories. In addition to the joy and honor of being with students, the school has many achievements in professional work, even the "silence" that Ms. Huyen will always remember...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen shared that in 2001, the parents of a student in her homeroom class passed away in a traffic accident. The student's family was already in difficulty, his father was a construction worker, his mother had liver disease and was no longer able to work. When his father passed away - the pillar of the family was no longer there, the student's family situation became even more miserable. Her mother is sick but has to shy away from taking care of her husband and raising 3 children to study.

"I and my family have taken care of my father's funeral, giving him a lot of care, love, and support him both materially and spiritually. There were times when my child had no sandals to wear, so he wore a torn shirt to go to school... After class, I took him to the market to buy him some things to wear, and went to the house to teach him how to study. Now that I am a successful citizen, my teachers and students always keep in touch. Every time they have the opportunity to meet, teachers and students shed tears of emotion, Ms. Huyen shared.
