Since its establishment, the activities of the Grassroots Trade Union (CDCS) of TKG Taekwang Can Tho Co., Ltd. have increased in both quantity and quality, with more than 15,000 union members.
To achieve this result, the grassroots trade union has constantly performed well the function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers (NLD), especially female workers - the force accounting for more than 62.5% of the company's total workforce.
It is noteworthy to coordinate with employers to find optimal solutions to improve the working environment for female workers such as being examined by obstetricians once a year; being given 30 minutes/day off during menstruation; being given 60 minutes/day off during raising children under 12 months old; being transferred to a lighter job during pregnancy and raising children under 12 months old; being guaranteed jobs after maternity leave, not being fired or unilaterally terminating labor contracts during pregnancy, maternity leave, raising children under 12 months old;...
Moreover, the unit also installed 3 maternal milk dispensing and storage rooms and supported labor to raise young children until the child is 71 months old, with an amount of 100,000 VND/child/month; adding 1 box of milk for pregnant mothers in the meal portion.

From dialogue to superior benefits

In particular, in addition to compulsory social insurance, the grassroots trade union has negotiated for the company to buy additional health insurance for all employees (payment level of 2 million VND/examination). At the same time, maintain the "Golden Book of Contributions" fund to support workers suffering from critical illnesses...
These outstanding welfare policies not only help union members and employees at the company enjoy more and more benefits, improve their material and spiritual lives, but are also a motivation to attract voluntary workers to join the Trade Union organization. Thanks to that, to date, the grassroots trade union at the company has more than 1,500 trade union members.
The Can Tho City Labor Federation after merging has 881 grassroots trade unions and professional unions with nearly 140,000 union members. In the 2025-2030 term, the City Trade Union sets a target to strive to develop union members to reach at least 90% compared to the actual increase in the workforce and labor force in the industrial - construction sector; admitting at least 80,000 new union members.
On that basis, the City Labor Federation will actively innovate the content and methods of operation, taking the quality of grassroots trade union activities as a driving force to promote the work of gathering and mobilizing union members and workers to participate in the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
