Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union launches Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.

On the morning of April 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union organized a launching ceremony for Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 and responded to "Day for Workers' Health".

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Huynh Thanh Xuan attended and delivered directing speeches at the launching ceremony.

Mr. Nguyen Ha Xuyen - Chairman of the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union - said that trade union levels in the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment sector are urgently implementing the organization of Workers' Month activities, responding to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health with many practical activities such as: Caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, civil servants and laborers, building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises, and raising awareness of compliance with laws on occupational safety and health.

Mr. Xuyen also called on all officials, union members, and workers of the Agriculture and Environment sector to strongly respond to Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 with actions such as: Innovation and creativity become a driving force for development, to make labor productivity a measure of emulation efficiency, to make occupational safety culture a foundation for sustainable development with the goal that workers of the Agriculture and Environment sector safely return home.

Speaking to direct at the launching ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Huynh Thanh Xuan said that in 2026, the whole country will continue to promote industrialization, modernization, digital transformation and deep international integration, and at the same time aim for the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union. This poses increasingly high requirements for trade union organizations at all levels in innovating the content and methods of operation, improving the effectiveness of caring for union members and workers, especially caring for the health of union members and workers.

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Huynh Thanh Xuan requested trade unions at all levels in the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment sector to continue to promote propaganda and raise awareness for workers about labor law, trade unions and occupational safety and health; strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation in propaganda and dissemination of laws.

“Vietnamese Trade Unions at all levels in the Agriculture and Environment sector need to effectively organize activities to care for and protect the rights of workers, focus on dialogue and collective negotiation, promptly support and help union members in difficult circumstances, workers who have suffered work accidents and occupational diseases, and propose solutions to ensure jobs and income for workers sustainably, accompany businesses, promote labor productivity growth, and improve business competitiveness. At the same time, closely coordinate with employers in improving working conditions, building a safe, green, clean, and beautiful working environment, and strongly launching emulation movements on occupational safety and hygiene,” Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Huynh Thanh Xuan emphasized.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Agriculture and Environment also presented 29 gifts to workers with critical illnesses, worth 2 million VND/gift and 735 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, worth 1 million VND/gift, with a total value of 793 million VND.

The Vietnam Union of Agriculture and Environment also awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to 1 collective and Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Union of Agriculture and Environment to 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring labor safety and hygiene".
