On April 18, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee announced that it had just issued a plan to organize the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day, associated with the launch of Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.
According to the plan, this year's Workers' Month is implemented synchronously, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, focusing on practically caring for the material and spiritual life of workers. Levels, sectors, trade union organizations and businesses coordinate to implement it in order to create widespread spread.
At the launching ceremony, many meaningful activities are expected to be organized such as awarding support for "Trade Union Shelter" houses; giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, who have suffered from labor accidents and occupational diseases; and commending typical workers in production.
After the launching ceremony, care activities continued to be widely deployed at the grassroots level. The focus is on visiting and supporting union members; organizing health check-ups; strengthening dialogue at the workplace; improving working conditions; ensuring labor safety and hygiene.
Workers' Month 2026 demonstrates the concern, responsibility and involvement of the entire political system, the business community and the whole society in caring for the lives, jobs and social security of workers.
