Understanding workers from the smallest things
Attached to the business since 2003, having held many positions before becoming Chairman of the grassroots trade union cum Director of the raw material warehouse department, Mr. Le Vo Huu Hanh owns a valuable "asset": a deep understanding of the life and working environment of more than 20,000 workers at this FDI enterprise. He not only understands the pressure of peak seasons of orders but also sympathizes with the worry of overtime, the cost of raising young children or the burden of making a living when prices fluctuate. That is what shaped his Trade Union style: substantive dialogue, going straight to the issue instead of formal meetings.
Under the guidance of Mr. Hanh, periodic dialogues at the workplace are maintained regularly every month. The content focuses on issues that workers are most concerned about such as salaries, bonuses, working hours, rest, occupational safety and health, regimes for female workers and welfare policies.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap - commented: "The precious point about Mr. Hanh is that he always turns dialogue into an effective channel for solving problems. Many workers' petitions are processed right at the grassroots level, limiting the occurrence of grievances and labor disputes." Thanks to that, for many years, labor relations at Freeview Industrial Vietnam have always been maintained harmoniously and stably; the proportion of Trade Union members reaches over 99% of the total labor force.
Bringing "net gold" into collective labor agreements
If dialogue is to listen, then collective bargaining is the place to clearly show the bravery of a Trade Union official. The point that creates the unique mark of Mr. Le Vo Huu Hanh is the negotiative thinking that does not only stop at salaries or allowances, but aims for sustainable values, rich in humanistic meaning.
Taking advantage of foreign languages, in the process of negotiating and signing collective labor agreements, he and the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union proposed and successfully persuaded the business leadership of foreigners through a policy of rewarding 24K gold for long-term employees: employees who have worked for 10 years are awarded 1 tael of 24K gold with certificates of merit; employees who have worked for 20 years are awarded 1.5 taels of 24K gold with certificates of merit.
This unique policy quickly created a positive effect in the workforce. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Suong, a worker in the shoe sole department, was moved when mentioning the bonus of 1 tael of 24K gold for employees who have been attached to the company for 10 years: "I keep this reward as a family heir to make my children and grandchildren proud.
That is also the common feeling of many workers. Those pure gold bonuses not only carry material value but also are a solemn recognition of youth and dedication of workers. In the context that many businesses are still struggling with the problem of retaining workers, including "pure gold" in the legal documents of businesses is considered a way that is both humane and creates long-term commitment motivation.
Many workers jokingly call Mr. Hanh "Trade Union Chairman negotiating gold for workers". But behind that joke is recognition for a Trade Union official who knows how to turn collective bargaining into real value.
Belief and aspiration for settlement
Mr. Le Vo Huu Hanh's negotiation mark does not stop at seniority gold coins. The collective labor agreement built by him and the Trade Union Executive Committee also has many clauses higher than legal regulations such as: salary and allowance increases 2 times/year; output bonuses for both direct and indirect workers; living support of 400,000 VND/person/month; childcare allowance; holiday and Tet bonuses, 13th month salary and many other regimes. It is estimated that the total benefit from negotiation policies in the period 2023 - 2025 reaches about 500 billion VND.

In parallel with negotiating benefits, the grassroots trade union always proactively supervises the implementation of policies, ensuring that 100% of employees who are compulsory are fully insured; businesses do not allow salary and insurance debts to occur. Direct care activities are also carried out with large resources. For the April 30th and May 1st holidays of 2026, the company's grassroots trade union spent more than 3.7 billion VND to give gifts to union members and employees.
Many programs to support workers in difficult circumstances, mobilizing hundreds of millions of VND for social security activities are also maintained regularly.
Not stopping at immediate care, Mr. Hanh is also concerned about the issue of housing for workers. According to him, if workers want to be attached for a long time, in addition to stable income, it is also necessary to build a "trade union ecosystem", where workers have stable accommodation, enjoy good benefits and work in a humane environment.
Creative and enthusiastic ways of doing things have brought him many noble rewards for individuals and grassroots trade unions. But for Mr. Hanh, the greatest reward is still the trust of tens of thousands of workers for the Trade Union organization.
Mr. Le Vo Huu Hanh's story shows: In modern labor relations, a brave Trade Union leader not only knows how to listen and share, but also must bring about different values - true "golden values" for workers.
