Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the SBV, Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Union, said that for the banking industry - a highly specialized industry with high work intensity, requiring accuracy, discipline and absolute safety - occupational safety and health work is not limited to ensuring physical health but also includes taking care of mental health, reducing professional pressure, and building a positive, professional and humane working environment.
This becomes even more urgent in the context of strong digital transformation, requiring the entire industry to constantly innovate, adapt quickly and improve the quality of human resources.
In 2026, the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health is organized with the theme: "Innovating management and improving the efficiency of occupational safety and health work in the digital age" Workers' Month with the theme: "Vietnamese workers innovate and improve labor productivity".
According to Mr. Pham Tien Dung, this is a message with profound meaning, showing the determination to promote the central and subjective role of officials, union members, and workers in performing tasks, while emphasizing the responsibility of Party committees, unit leaders, employers and trade union organizations in caring for and ensuring increasingly better working conditions for workers.

To ensure that the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health and Workers' Month 2026 activities are implemented practically and effectively, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, Mr. Pham Tien Dung requested units throughout the industry to focus on effectively implementing a number of key tasks.
Accordingly, agencies and units need to identify employees as the most valuable assets, and continue to build a safe, professional, and humane working environment. Each grassroots trade union must truly be a reliable support for union members, and each official and union member needs to proactively study, train, improve skills, labor discipline, and the spirit of innovation.
Trade union levels continue to take advantage of the leadership of Party committees, closely coordinate with heads of agencies and units to effectively organize activities of Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; strengthen dialogue, listen, and promptly resolve issues of concern to workers.
Continue to promote activities to care for material and spiritual life, pay attention to organizing health check-ups, professional psychological counseling; visit and support union members in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases, and occupational diseases.
Focus on promptly resolving difficulties and obstacles related to regimes, policies, salaries, working hours, rest hours, improving working conditions, especially for job positions with high risks.
Widely launch patriotic emulation movements; promote activities to respond to the Digital Transformation Day of the Banking sector (May 11); promote initiatives and digital initiatives, improve labor productivity, quality and efficiency of work, contributing to units throughout the Sector to successfully complete the political and business tasks in 2026 assigned by the Party and Government to the Banking sector; and promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with typical and outstanding achievements in the movements.
Strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of regulations on occupational safety and health, proactively detect, prevent and overcome potential risks in the working process.

Emphasizing that the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health and the Workers' Month 2026 are not only an opportunity to honor the contributions of workers, raise awareness of occupational safety, but also a testament to the strong commitment of the entire industry in caring for, protecting and developing human resources - a decisive factor for the sustainable development of the banking industry, Mr. Pham Tien Dung requested all officials, union members, and employees of the banking industry to actively respond and participate with specific, practical, creative and highly responsible actions.
