Dialogue for workers to share with businesses
Recently, more than 200 employees of Tam Cuong Shoe Factory under Dinh Vang Co., Ltd. sent a petition to the trade union and business leaders regarding Tet bonuses. Accordingly, employees requested the business to clearly disclose the Tet bonus payment plan, and increase the Tet bonus level from 1 month's salary to 1.5 months' salary...
Immediately after receiving the workers' recommendations, on the afternoon of February 4th, the Factory Management Board and the grassroots trade union coordinated to organize a dialogue with workers. Representatives of the Trade Union of Dinh Vang Co., Ltd. said that at the dialogue, the business listened to all workers' opinions. At the same time, they informed workers about the company's production and business situation in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. Accordingly, in 2025, the company's production and business situation will be affected, and orders will be reduced. This situation lasts until the first quarter of 2026, however, the company is still trying to maintain it to ensure workers' jobs.
After the meeting, the company agreed on the bonus level of 1 month's actual salary for employees. The administrative department alone received an additional Tet lucky money of 500,000 VND or more. Employees also shared with the business, and were assured to work.
In addition to Tet bonuses from businesses, the company's trade union gives Tet gifts worth 800,000 VND (500,000 VND in cash and gift bags worth 300,000 VND) to union members and employees. The company also arranges buses to take workers from distant provinces home for Tet, and buses are expected to depart on February 11th and 12th" - Ms. Luong Thi Thanh Hai, Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union, informed.
Tam Cuong shoe factory currently has about 2,300 workers. Notably, during the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025, this unit experienced a collective work stoppage, also related to Tet bonuses. Specifically, at 1:30 pm on February 17, 2025, after lunch, workers of the Thanh Hinh department of Tam Cuong shoe factory turned off the engine and went to the yard in front of the factory office to stop working. After that, some workers of other departments in the factory also went to the yard to stop working. The rest were still in the workshop.
Employees proposed that businesses increase Tet bonuses; increase lunch money and add it to salary; convert overtime meals into 10,000 VND/person. After that, the company proposed a solution to increase overtime meal money by 8,000 VND/portion (added to salary); support meal money when employees work overtime is 6,000 VND/portion. Regarding Tet bonuses, the company adjusted that employees working at the factory for 3 years or more will receive 1 month's basic salary (instead of 7 years as before); the rest is calculated according to the ratio.
Timely grasp the situation of labor relations during Tet
According to the Hai Phong City Department of Home Affairs, thanks to the good implementation of dialogue and democracy regulations, in 2025, labor relations in the city were basically stable. The whole city recorded 4 collective labor disputes and work stoppages mainly related to requests to adjust salaries, allowances, welfare regimes; implementation of labor contracts and social insurance; working hours and salary scales.
The City Labor Federation promptly grasped information, coordinated with the government and functional agencies to work with businesses, requested dialogue, and resolved workers' petitions. As a result, 100% of cases were resolved thoroughly, without allowing hot spots to arise, ensuring security and order and legitimate rights of workers.
During the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, businesses in the area paid Tet bonuses estimated at 7,358,000 VND/person, an increase of 278,000 VND/person compared to the same period. Most businesses paid bonuses at a level equivalent to a month's salary of employees. The City Department of Home Affairs continues to monitor, grasp, and summarize the labor situation, salaries, bonuses and labor relations at enterprises; proactively coordinate with relevant agencies, units, and localities to guide, support, and promptly resolve arising difficulties and problems.
