Go online to find a job
Following information from a job-seeking sharing group, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Lo Thi Dinh (19 years old, Thanh Minh Commune, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province) said: “After Tet, I decided to find a more stable job. I often go online to search for information and apply, but so far I have not found a suitable job.”
Ms. Quang Thi Hien (27 years old, Tan Thanh ward, Dien Bien Phu city) - said that in Dien Bien, the average salary for unskilled workers is low, while the cost of living in the city is not cheap. "I want to find a stable job, but so far there has been no result. Sometimes I think about moving to the provinces below to work as a worker" - Ms. Hien said.
According to the reporter's investigation, after Tet, the demand for job searching through social networking sites increased. Groups such as "Jobs in Dien Bien", "Find a job quickly in Lai Chau"... attracted thousands of members.

Workers need to be vigilant against fraud
Finding a job is a legitimate need of workers, however, we need to be extremely vigilant against scams appearing on the internet. Many subjects have taken advantage of recruitment methods with attractive offers such as "easy work, high salary".

At the end of December 2024, the authorities of Dien Bien province received 11 Vietnamese citizens aged 21-40 who illegally left the country to Laos and Myanmar to find work. Of these, 8 citizens searched for jobs on social networks or were invited and introduced to Myanmar by friends and acquaintances.
Upon arrival, workers had their phones and personal documents confiscated and were forced to work in online gambling establishments and fraudulent online sales. At the same time, they were assigned to collect a daily amount of money. If they did not meet the quota, they would be beaten, fined and starved.
Recently, in mid-January 2025, Lai Chau Provincial Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Lo Thi Kem for human trafficking for tricking and selling 7 women abroad. Having been a prostitute in Myanmar, Kem returned to Vietnam to lure girls from difficult circumstances to go abroad. In fact, Kem tricked these girls into going to Myanmar to force them into prostitution.

To avoid falling victim to these scams, workers should proactively contact licensed service businesses or local labor authorities directly for accurate information and appropriate support.
It is known that in 2024, Dien Bien Provincial Employment Service Center introduced 1,573 workers to companies and enterprises inside and outside the province; introduced 18 workers to go abroad to work... the whole province also created new jobs for 11,099 workers.
