On December 4, Mr. Pham Van Hien - Deputy Director of the Legal Consulting Center, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that the Civil Judgment Enforcement of Region 9, Ho Chi Minh City has decided to temporarily suspend registration, transfer ownership, and change the status of assets of Vinh Thong Production - Trade - Service Company Limited (Vinh Thong Company) to ensure payment of unpaid wages to employees.
This decision is based on the verdict of the People's Court of Region 9, Ho Chi Minh City on forcing Vinh Thong Company to pay wages to employees and finding it necessary to prevent ownership, dispersation, destruction, and change the current status of assets of Vinh Thong Company.
According to this decision, the property whose registration, ownership transfer, and status change are land use rights of 7,400 m2 in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Tan Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, where the company is headquartered.
Along with the decision to temporarily suspend registration, transfer ownership, and change the current status of assets of Vinh Thong Company, Civil Judgment Enforcement of Region 9, Ho Chi Minh City also issued a decision to temporarily suspend exit for Mr. Vo Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinh Thong Company.
This temporary suspension of exit from the country will only end when Vinh Thong Company and Mr. Vo Hoang An have fulfilled their obligation to pay wages to employees according to the verdict of the People's Court of Area 9, Ho Chi Minh City.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Vinh Thong Company owes wages and is late in paying social insurance to workers for a large sum of money. After many times of asking the company to pay salaries and social insurance but not being able to do so, 137 workers of Vinh Thong Company authorized an officer of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to sue the company in court to claim unpaid wages (about 3.1 billion VND) and pay social insurance in full (about 4.8 billion VND).
After the court's verdict, 128 workers of this company submitted a petition to enforce the judgment, forcing the company to enforce the judgment to pay wages and pay social insurance in full.
However, after the time to voluntarily enforce the judgment, Vinh Thong Company had not properly enforced the judgment, so Vinh Thong Company's workers filed a request for enforcement to ensure their rights.
