Owed for nearly a year but still not paid enough salary
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter on November 14, Mr. Le Van Thuan - former employee of Vinh Thong Production and Trading Service Company Limited located in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City (Vinh Thong Company) said that he was late in paying his salary in December 2024 and January 2025 by this company for about 18 million VND. However, nearly a year has passed, and he and the employees of this company have not yet been paid their salaries and have not paid their social insurance in full despite implementing many measures.
According to Mr. Thuan, he is currently working for a processing facility, with a salary of about 6 million VND/month if he works 26 working days. However, there is not always enough work, so income is often unstable. His wife works in the garment industry and earns about 6 million VND/month. The couple also raised a young child, but fortunately did not have to rent a house because they lived with their parents. However, with an income of less than 12 million VND/month, life is very difficult.
Therefore, he was very upset that for nearly a year, Vinh Thong Company had only paid him about 5 million VND, without paying all the salary still owed to him, even though he had filed a lawsuit, had a verdict and had requested execution of the verdict.
Similarly, Mr. Le Minh Tan and his wife were also owed nearly 20 million VND in wages each by Vinh Thong Company. Currently, both he and his wife work outside and each person earns about 6 million VND/month, but have to rent a house for nearly 3 million VND/month and raise two young children of school age.
"Our life is currently very difficult, our income is unstable, we spend a lot. We don't understand why nearly a year has passed, with the authorities involved, but we still haven't received our legitimate efforts. Now I just hope that the company will quickly return our salary and pay us enough social insurance to stabilize our lives, said Mr. Tan.
Voluntary deadline has not yet been enforced
As Lao Dong Newspaper has repeatedly reported, Vinh Thong Company owes wages and social insurance to workers in large sums of money. Upset by the company's unpaid wages and late payment of social insurance, the employees of this company have stopped working collectively many times to request the company to pay salaries and social insurance in full but have not yet been implemented.
After that, 137 employees of Vinh Thong Company authorized an officer of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to sue the company in court to claim unpaid wages (about 3.1 billion VND) and pay social insurance in full (about 4.8 billion VND). After the court's verdict, 128 employees of this company submitted a petition to enforce the judgment, forcing the company to enforce the judgment to pay wages and pay social insurance in full.
Notably, the employees also requested the Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency of Region 9 - Ho Chi Minh City to apply measures to temporarily suspend exit for legal representatives of Vinh Thong Company, freeze the company's accounts at banks or apply enforcement measures according to the provisions of law to ensure enforcement obligations.
By October 13, the 10-day deadline for voluntary execution of the judgment had expired according to regulations, but according to Mr. Pham Van Hien - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Legal Consulting Center - Vinh Thong Company has not yet fully fulfilled its obligations.
By the morning of November 14, many employees of Vinh Thong Company said that the company had not yet paid the additional salary debt as committed in the judgments and decisions of the court.
