The Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation and the Standing Committee of the Phu Quoc Special Zone Party Committee just held a Conference to sign the Regulation on coordination of activities for the period 2026 - 2030 yesterday afternoon (July 29).
According to the signed regulations, the two units will strengthen coordination in leading and directing the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities; developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions; building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations; promptly grasping the situation, solving problems arising in enterprises, contributing to ensuring social security and promoting socio-economic development in the special zone.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Do Tran Thinh emphasized that Phu Quoc is the economic locomotive of the province, contributing over 30% of total budget revenue. The special zone is a pioneer in development thinking, so the Trade Union organization must also be a pioneer in innovating operating methods. The Trade Union cannot wait for workers (NLĐ) to come, but must proactively reach out to workers, so that they feel that when joining the Trade Union, they have more faith, opportunities and motivation for development. The signed coordination regulations are an commitment for the Party Committee to strengthen leadership, the government to create conditions, and businesses to accompany, thereby promoting the role of the Trade Union as a bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts, between economic development and human development.
Comrade Do Tran Thinh also requested special zone trade union levels to focus on improving the quality of human resources, promoting emulation movements for good labor, creative labor, developing union members and building strong trade union organizations. Proactively coordinate to care for the lives of workers, contributing to building a civilized and professional working environment, meeting the development requirements of the special zone and serving important foreign affairs events well, especially the preparation for APEC High-Level Week 2027.
Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Zone Dang Thi Hong Gam affirmed that the Party Committee of the special zone will pay attention to leading and creating favorable conditions for the Trade Union organization to perform well the function of representing, caring for and protecting employees; and at the same time wished the Provincial Labor Federation to continue to support the special zone in developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions at non-state sector enterprises, building a team of workers with industrial style and high professional qualifications, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of Phu Quoc in the new period.
Leaders of the Party Committee of the special economic zone also emphasized that building a team of professional, civilized, friendly workers and building harmonious and stable labor relations will be one of the important factors contributing to promoting the image of Phu Quoc, improving competitiveness and attracting investment.
The signing of the Coordination Regulation is an important basis to strengthen the leadership of the Party Committee over the workers' movement and trade union activities, promote the overall strength of the entire political system in caring for and protecting workers, building an increasingly strong working class and trade union organization, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals of Phu Quoc special zone in the period 2026 - 2030.
