On August 8, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) coordinated with the Trade Union of Minh Phu - Hau Giang Seafood Joint Stock Company to organize the Trade Union Shelter Award Ceremony for union member Duong Thi Ngoc in Phu Huu commune.
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation.

It is known that union member Duong Thi Ngoc's family has a very difficult time with housing. The female worker is the main breadwinner in the family. As for her husband and son, they are freelancers with unstable incomes. Meanwhile, the old house has seriously degraded, the facade of the house wall is not complete, the surrounding walls are also severely damaged by old corrugated iron.
Recognizing the difficult circumstances of the family, the company's grassroots union and the City Labor Federation promptly supported the construction of the Union Shelter for union members.

After a period of construction, the shelter has been completed and put into use. With an area of about 75 m2, the shelter was built in the style of a level 4 house, with a total cost of over 70 million VND. Of which, the union member's family was supported by the City Labor Federation with 50 million VND.
This is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love, support, helping each other and the concern of the Trade Union at all levels for the lives of union members and workers. At the same time, it helps union members and their families have a stable and safe place to live, contributing to improving their lives, working with peace of mind, and continuing to stick with the company and the Trade Union organization.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation Le Thi Suong Mai said that in recent times, the Branch of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund of the Trade Union in Can Tho has actively cared for union members and workers in the area through Trade Union Shelter programs, awarding scholarships to children of union members and workers, etc.
After the merger, the area and number of union members and workers in the city will be expanded. Accordingly, the City Labor Federation will promote the achievements, continue to care for and support union members and workers in many practical forms.
