Practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025), on August 1, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor held a handover ceremony of the "Union Shelter" house to Mr. Bui Truong Giang - a union member, currently working at Ty Thac Company Limited.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor, leaders of the company, the grassroots union and the local government of My Quy commune.

The house was built in My Quy commune, Dong Thap province, with a usable area of 67m2, a solid structure with built walls and corrugated iron roofs. The total construction cost was 85 million VND, of which the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Dong Thap Branch supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by the family.
Mr. Bui Truong Giang is the main breadwinner in a family of 5, his wife has no stable job, and is raising 3 young children (born in 2009, 2017 and 2024). With an income of about 8 million VND/month, the family encountered many difficulties and could not save to build a house. Previously, the whole family lived in a temporary house that had seriously degraded, with a sunken foundation, rotten walls, and leakage, which was especially dangerous during the rainy and stormy season.

Mr. Pham Vo Duc Trung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor - shared that the Trade Union Shelter program is an activity of profound humanistic significance, demonstrating the responsibility and affection of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers with difficult housing circumstances. Thereby, helping workers settle down, stabilize their lives, and stay with the unit, enterprise and trade union organization for a long time.
"In the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to pay attention and mobilize resources to support more union members in difficulty to have a home as desired" - Mr. Trung said.

Ms. Phan Thi Quyen - Administrative Director of Ty Thac Company Limited - said: "We are very moved to see union members receive stable support. This is the result of effective coordination between the Trade Union organization, enterprises and local authorities. The company will continue to accompany the Trade Union in activities to care for workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing and humanity throughout the company.

The house handover ceremony took place in a warm and affectionate atmosphere, demonstrating the deep concern of the Trade Union and the enterprise for workers, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual love among union members and workers.
