Union Meal is a meaningful activity launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; the Vietnam Construction Trade Union has directed, guided and implemented by the IDICO Corporation Trade Union in its affiliated trade unions for over a month.
The program not only creates a connection between union members and workers with the Trade Union organization and unit leaders but is also a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.
In the last days of August 2025, a number of grassroots unions under the IDICO Corporation Trade Union continued to coordinate with the professional organization to organize the Workers' Conference and the "Union Meal" in 2025. The Standing Committee of the Corporation's Trade Union assigned comrades in the Standing Committee to attend the same unit.
Recently, speaking at the Workers' Conference and "Union Meal" of IDICO Tien Giang Joint Stock Company, Comrade Nguyen Hong Hai, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union, Deputy General Director - Chairman of the IDICO Trade Union, emphasized: "Union Meal" has a profound meaning in caring for the material and spiritual life of workers, creating cohesion in the collective, strengthening trust in the trade union organization and enterprises, and at the same time an opportunity to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers, thereby building a civilized and friendly working environment. The program also demonstrates the role of trade unions in understanding, sharing and accompanying workers, especially those far from home, so that they can work and contribute with peace of mind.
Organizing union meals at agencies and businesses is a good, practical, and simple idea, but it brings a very close feeling. Because the image of everyone gathering together for a meal, having a connection with family meals, a traditional cultural feature of the Vietnamese people, where everyone in the family eats and chats together to share, to become more connected with each other.
Comrade Nguyen Hong Hai added that for the Trade Union organization, "Union Meal" is not only a practical concern for union members and workers but also demonstrates the responsibility and affection of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives and health of brothers and sisters from the simplest, most immediate needs...
