On September 21, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized the opening ceremony of a training class for more than 80 trade union officials in communes, wards, and special zones in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the third class in a series of 10 classes implemented by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor nationwide, and also the first of two classes organized in Ho Chi Minh City taking place consecutively from September 21 to September 23.
Attending and participating in conveying the contents for the training class were Mr. Tong Van Bang, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Doan Duc Han, Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and Mr. Nguyen Thang Thuc, Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Speaking at the opening, Mr. Tong Van Bang - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said that the country is entering a new stage of development with higher requirements for governance quality, the operational effectiveness of the political system, and promoting digital transformation and sustainable development.
This context poses the requirement that the Trade Union organization must continue to innovate thinking, apparatus and operating methods, strongly focus on the grassroots level, taking union members and workers as the center. Thoroughly grasping the Party's policy on streamlining the apparatus and concretizing the Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union, the effective organization of activities in commune, ward, and special zone trade unions plays a particularly important role in bringing policies closer to workers, protecting their legitimate rights and interests right from the grassroots level.
During the training period, trainees will study the foundational contents including the Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union and new points; union member development, establishment of grassroots trade unions; financial and asset management; inspection and supervision work; methods of representing and caring for workers, and at the same time clarify the functions and tasks and orientations of the trade unions of communes, wards, and special zones.
Emphasizing the role of the team of commune, ward, and special zone trade union officials in the effectiveness of trade union activities, Mr. Tong Van Bang wished that each trade union official should improve their sense of responsibility, proactively learn, innovate working methods, and truly be deeply involved in practice to listen, understand and promptly solve problems arising from workers' lives.
