65 commune, ward, and special zone trade union officials attend training, looking closer to grassroots levels

Tay Ninh - 65 trade union officials from 5 provinces and cities are trained in professional skills, aiming to operate close to grassroots levels, close to union members and better care for workers.

On September 19, in Long An ward, Tay Ninh province, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized a training class for trade union officials of communes, wards, and special zones in 2026.

Attending were Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung, representatives of leaders of professional departments of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, leaders of the Tay Ninh Provincial Labor Federation and 65 trade union officials from commune, ward, and special zone trade unions of 5 provinces and cities: An Giang, Ca Mau, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Vinh Long.

The training class takes place in two days, September 19 and 20, focusing on 3 main topics including: financial management and trade union assets at grassroots trade unions; Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; functions and tasks of trade unions for communes, wards, and special zones. Trainees are also equipped with knowledge and skills to perform the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung emphasized that after the merger and implementation of the two-level government, the trade union organization has had many innovations. Therefore, commune and ward trade union officials need to firmly grasp professional skills, be close to union members and workers; proactively grasp the thoughts and aspirations and promptly handle arising issues.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung requested trainees to exchange frankly, linking knowledge with reality. Through this, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has more information from the grassroots level to continue to improve guidance and support local trade unions to operate effectively.

Leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also requested commune, ward, and special zone trade unions to strengthen connections between members, exchange practical experiences and support each other to overcome barriers in mechanisms and resources. Trade union officials are encouraged to proactively advise and plan early so that the work of caring for workers' lives, especially during holidays and Tet, is carried out thoughtfully.

Through the training class, the team of trade union officials is updated with knowledge, unified methods and shared experiences, towards building a team with solid professional skills, close to the grassroots level, close to union members; gradually bringing trade union activities into order and better meeting the requirements of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
