On August 22, the Bac Ninh Provincial Labor Federation said that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor had just coordinated with the Provincial Labor Federation to organize a training program on environmental protection and occupational safety and health for 120 full-time trade union officials and occupational safety and health workers at a number of enterprises in the province.
Here, delegates were informed by speakers from the Labor Relations Department (Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) and the Institute of Environmental Energy Technology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) of the basic contents of the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection and current regulations; skills, methods of operation of trade union officials and labor safety and hygiene;
The impact of environmental pollution on workers' health and pollution reduction solutions; clarifying the responsibilities and powers of grassroots trade unions and the role of safety and hygiene networks in environmental protection, occupational safety and hygiene.
In addition to the topics being conveyed, delegates spent time exchanging and being answered about issues arising in practical work such as: Identifying and preventing risk factors affecting workers' health; the role and methods of operation of the safety and hygiene network and the effectiveness of propaganda and supervision at the grassroots level.
Through the training program, trade union officials and people working in occupational safety and health are equipped with more knowledge and skills to effectively implement activities at the grassroots level; improve the effectiveness of participating in environmental protection, ensuring occupational safety and health, building a safe working environment, contributing to protecting workers' health.
