Reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper interviewed Ms. Bui Thi Bich Thuy - Permanent Vice President of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor (DOLF) about the plan to take care of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year in 2026 for union members and workers.
Sir, the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo in 2026 is approaching, with Dong Nai as a province with many industrial parks and a large number of illegal workers. So, what plans does Dong Nai Trade Union have to take care of Binh Ngo Tet in 2026 for union members and workers?
- After the merger, Dong Nai province has 52 new industrial parks in operation, the whole province currently has 2,324 grassroots trade unions, units and enterprises with 743,988 union members/786,277 employees.
Implementing Plan No. 34/KH-TLD dated October 15, 2025 of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor will deploy and concretize the plan contents to all affiliated grassroots unions.
The organization is carried out synchronously at 2 levels of the grassroots trade union and the provincial labor federation, ensuring flexibility and diversity in forms of care and attention more to union members and workers who are truly disadvantaged, have low income, suffer from serious illnesses, occupational diseases, have work accidents, lack of jobs, lose jobs, are owed wages, and enterprises do not have Tet bonuses.
Mobilize units, enterprises, philanthropists, especially employers to support resources to work with the Trade Union organization to care for and practically support union members and employees.
What are the main contents of the activities to care for Binh Ngo Tet in 2026 for union members and workers in Dong Nai, ma'am?
- There are 5 main activities to take care of Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026. These are: (1) "Tet Sum Vay" Program: The Trade Union organizes cultural and sports activities, meetings, and exchanges in industrial parks, boarding houses, and enterprises, aiming for all union members and employees to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet in a joyful and warm atmosphere. For the Provincial Federation of Labor, the program "Tet Sum Vay" will be organized; "Workers' Family" Meeting will be held.
(2) Spring activities to welcome Tet, visit, give gifts, and wish Tet to union members and workers: Visit, encourage, and give gifts to union members and workers, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances, with low income, suffering from serious illnesses, occupational diseases, having work accidents, lack of jobs, losing their jobs, and being owed wages and bonuses for Tet; Union members and workers from policy families who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years; female union members and workers raising young children...
(3) Meeting "Workers' families" for families of union members and workers in difficult circumstances who are unable to return home for Tet and workers in the boarding house area. For special enterprises, union members and employees who have to work through Tet, the Trade Union proactively coordinates and negotiates with employers depending on actual conditions to have appropriate bonuses and organize activities to celebrate Spring, celebrate Tet, visit, give gifts, and " lucky money to celebrate the old age" according to traditional ethnic customs.
(4) Organize free transportation or support for train, car, plane tickets, and vehicles for union members and employees to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and return to work, ensuring safety, convenience, and thoughtfulness. The Provincial Federation of Labor organizes the program "Union Members' Tet Buses - Spring 2026" to support 2,200 bus tickets to take union members and workers home to celebrate Tet and return to work. With the attention of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Dong Nai was allocated 450 train tickets and 120 plane tickets to take union members and workers home to celebrate Tet.
(5) The program "Union Tet Market - Spring 2026 - Online" organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with 9,300 vouchers for Dong Nai union members who buy goods at a face value of VND 500,000/voucher when participating in the program.
Every year during the Lunar New Year, the issue of salary and bonus is always the biggest concern of union members and employees. What activities does Dong Nai Trade Union implement to help stabilize labor relations in the province?
- In order to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor directs all levels of the province's Trade Unions, especially the Trade Unions, to proactively grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees in a timely manner, propose the content of dialogue and collective bargaining on issues that union members and employees are interested in such as: salary increase, Tet bonuses, Tet holiday plans, Tet care of the Trade Union organization and employers.
Propagate and mobilize union members and employees to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet in a spirit of thrift and safety, comply with legal regulations and return to work on time according to the plan, announcement, and schedule for Tet holidays of the unit and enterprise; continue to accompany enterprises, work effectively, and improve labor productivity.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also proactively participates with departments and branches to coordinate in grasping the situation, supervising employers in paying salaries and bonuses, having plans and notifying union members and employees about the Tet holiday schedule; promptly detecting and having solutions to protect the rights of union members and employees in enterprises facing difficulties, unpaid wages, employers fleeing or dissolving, going bankrupt, contributing to stabilizing the situation of labor relations during Tet.
Deploy measures to detect and prevent labor disputes, collective work stoppages arising during Tet and participate in timely and effective handling, contributing to ensuring security and order in the locality, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees.
