On the afternoon of July 13, the Da Nang City Labor Federation announced the decision to establish the grassroots trade union of OBE Vietnam Co., Ltd. and admit 38 workers to the Vietnam Trade Union.
OBE Vietnam Co., Ltd. is a foreign-invested enterprise in Tam Thang 2 Industrial Park, Ban Thach ward, Da Nang. The enterprise is operating in the field of precision mechanical manufacturing, specializing in casting and processing metal hinges for glass frames.
The company's grassroots trade union was launched with 5 members, with Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc appointed as Chairman.
According to the leader of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, the establishment of the grassroots trade union of OBE Vietnam Co., Ltd. contributes to expanding the network of trade union organizations at enterprises, and at the same time creates more support for workers to be represented, cared for and protected their rights right at work.
At the same time, the City Trade Union proposed that the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union quickly stabilize the organization, assign specific tasks to each member; develop programs and operating plans that are close to the production and business situation and the actual needs of workers.
In which, grassroots trade unions need to proactively grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members; coordinate with business leaders to care for the lives and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers. Trade union activities must strongly focus on grassroots levels, taking union members as the center, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at enterprises.
