From July 12 - 18, the Trade Union of Hoi An Tay ward, Da Nang city organized the 2026 Male Football Tournament for workers, civil servants, and laborers, at Minh Toan Hoi An football field.
The tournament gathers 8 teams representing grassroots trade unions, with more than 120 athletes working in Hoi An Dong and Hoi An Tay wards. The teams are divided into 2 groups, competing to select teams with good results to enter the next round.
The tournament is an activity to celebrate the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026-2031 and towards the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026).
According to the Organizing Committee, the football tournament aims to create a healthy and useful playground, encouraging union members and workers to practice health. This is also an opportunity for workers in agencies, units, and businesses to exchange, strengthen solidarity and improve cultural and spiritual life.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first matches took place sôi nổi with many beautiful plays, fierce disputes, attracting a large number of union members and workers to cheer.
With the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility - Progress", the tournament contributes to spreading the movement of sports training, increasing the cohesion between grassroots trade unions and creating an atmosphere of emulation among workers, civil servants, and laborers.
