On August 21, at Hau Giang Community College, the ceremony to award the decision to establish the grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) and recognize the Executive Committee of the CĐCS of Hau Giang Community College, term 2026 - 2030, took place.
At the ceremony, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) announced Decisions on recognizing CĐCS of Hau Giang Community College, recognizing Trade Union members, appointing the Executive Committee, positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman; Inspection Committee, positions of Chairman of the Inspection Committee of CĐCS.
Accordingly, the Grassroots Trade Union of Hau Giang Community College has 148 union members. The Executive Committee consists of 5 members, Mr. Ly Thanh Tung is the Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, City Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, Chairwoman of the City Labor Federation - emphasized that grassroots trade unions must truly become a common home for workers where union members can send their thoughts and aspirations; where the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers are concerned and protected; and also a place where union members share, unite and contribute to the development of the unit.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation requested the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union to start working proactively and methodically; quickly stabilize the organization, assign specific tasks, and develop an activity program suitable to the characteristics of the unit. In particular, it is necessary to be close to union members, close to workers, listen and firmly grasp the situation from the grassroots level.
The City Labor Federation will pay attention to guiding, supporting and accompanying the Executive Committee in the process of operation; especially in trade union nghiệp vụ, labor law, labor relations, care for and protection of the rights of union members and workers.
