Deploying a program to support kitchens and collective houses worth 3.4 billion VND
VNPT Trade Union (under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology) currently has more than 40,000 union members and workers nationwide.
Due to the specific characteristics of the production and business model, the network of workers is distributed widely across the country, many forces work outside the field, in shifts or in a digital environment... causing many obstacles to the gathering and organization of centralized activities of trade unions.
Over the past time, the VNPT Trade Union has determined that care work should not only stop at supporting union members when they encounter difficulties, but must be carried out throughout both caring for material and spiritual life, health, working conditions to creating motivation for workers to develop their careers and improve their quality of life.
To do that, grassroots trade unions have proactively developed annual work programs closely following the production and business tasks of the unit, the actual needs of union members and the characteristics of labor in each locality.
Thanks to the increasingly close relationship between trade unions and professionals, together towards the goal of business development and improving the lives of workers, 14 welfare programs that are more beneficial than the provisions of law have been included in the collective labor agreement signed between VNPT Trade Union and the General Director of the Group.
Thanks to actively coordinating with professionals, the VNPT Trade Union has negotiated and supplemented many new welfare policies for employees. Typical examples include supporting specialist examinations for female workers (female workers under 40 years old, support up to 250,000 VND/person/year; female workers from 40 years old and over, support up to 650,000 VND/person/year); supporting employees to quit their jobs according to the labor arrangement plan at a rate of 4,000,000 VND/person/year; supporting the construction and repair of "VNPT Shelter" with a support level of 60,000,000-100,000,000 VND/home; donating savings of 30,000,000-50,000,000 VND/book to workers in particularly difficult circumstances...
In particular, the VNPT Trade Union actively implemented a program to support kitchens and collective houses for units with a total support level of 3,40,000,000 VND. The support funds are used to invest in and supplement necessary equipment, tools and tools for processing and preservation to organize meals and rooms for union members and workers. To date, 11 units have supported kitchens and collective houses with the amount of 1,188,576,534 VND (supporting 10 collective kitchens and supporting 4 collective houses).
VNPT Trade Union awarded 7 "VNPT Warm Houses", unexpected difficulty allowances to 80 workers; presented gifts to 230 workers with outstanding achievements and 215 management personnel who have made many contributions to the Group...
Digital transformation "deeply ingrained" in trade union activities
In the context of digital transformation, VNPT Trade Union not only cares for life but also accompanies workers to improve professional capacity. Many digital skills training programs, artificial intelligence application skills, information security, and digital working skills are implemented to help workers adapt to new requirements. Creative emulation movements, technical improvements, and digital transformation are linked to professional tasks, creating motivation for each union member to promote initiatives and improve labor productivity.
Instead of just organizing activities in the traditional way, VNPT Trade Union has promoted the application of digital technology in union member management, communication, opinion surveys, online training organization and connecting workers. Digital platforms help trade unions access union members faster, grasp information more promptly and implement care programs more effectively.

Notably, for the first time, the VNPT Trade Union organized online training combined with direct training for nearly 7,000 workers in the Safety and Hygiene Workers network to implement training, spread knowledge, professional skills, and inspection and supervision of occupational safety and health nationwide; training, inspection and evaluation to issue certificates of completion of courses for more than 4,000 trade union officials from the group level upwards throughout the VNPT Trade Union.
