On May 13, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to deploy coordination content in 2025. Attending and co-chairing the conference were Mr. Bui Thanh An - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor.
Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An highly appreciated the results achieved in coordination work in recent times, especially in protecting workers' rights and promoting the development of industrial parks. He said that this year, the labor demand in industrial parks in the province is about 45,000 people, but connecting labor supply and demand is still facing difficulties due to the trend of workers choosing to work outside the province or export labor.

In response to the new requirements, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that trade unions must innovate their activities, close to reality, emphasizing the role of trade unions in attracting, retaining workers and developing union members early, right from the first survey and investment by enterprises.
Reported at the Conference, the provincial Labor Federation said that the coordination with the provincial People's Committee in 2024 and the first 4 months of 2025 achieved many positive results. Notably, the work of taking care of the regime of policies, resolving labor disputes, preventing strikes, developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions exceeded the target. In particular, in 2024, the provincial Labor Federation established 87 grassroots trade unions, admitted over 18,000 members.
Social security work has also been promoted. The Provincial Federation of Labor successfully coordinated to organize the launching ceremony of Workers' Month, presented 44 gifts to workers who had accidents, supported 58 workers with occupational diseases, and organized a meeting with voters between National Assembly deputies and more than 350 workers.
However, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Kha Van Tam frankly stated that the new context with many changes in the organization of the apparatus and the strong development of FDI enterprises poses new challenges for trade unions. In particular, it is necessary to pay special attention to two key groups of tasks: developing union members - establishing grassroots unions and supervising the implementation of labor laws, especially issues of occupational safety and hygiene and social insurance.
To effectively implement, Mr. Kha Van Tam proposed to establish a Provincial Steering Committee for developing provincial-level union members headed by the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; at the same time, he proposed to allow trade unions to access information early when businesses register to invest in Nghe An.
Agreeing with the proposals, Permanent Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An requested relevant sectors and units to proactively specify the coordination content, in which the Department of Construction was assigned to preside over the review and consultation on the implementation of social housing projects for workers.
He also emphasized the requirement that rewards must be the right people, the right work, ensuring effectiveness, not formality; at the same time, deploy emulation movements towards Party Congresses at all levels.
The conference affirmed the determination to continue to accompany and closely coordinate between the government and the trade union to move towards the highest goal: better caring for the material and spiritual life and ensuring legitimate rights for workers.
