Trade Union flight connects love
On February 12th (ie December 25th of the lunar calendar), at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) in coordination with Vietnam Airlines organized a send-off ceremony for union members and workers participating in the program "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2026".
This is a key activity to support means for workers in difficult circumstances who have not returned to their hometowns for many years or have outstanding achievements in production. During the Binh Ngo Tet 2026, the program deploys 3 flights, bringing more than 550 union members from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, Vinh and Hue.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha, Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department, along with representatives of leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai provinces and representatives of Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines).
At the ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour shared that over nearly a century of formation and development, the Vietnam Trade Union has always affirmed its role as a reliable support, a loyal representative of the rights of the working class. Every Tet holiday and spring comes, that role is further illuminated through practical actions, bringing the warmth of the Trade Union organization to each union member.
Understanding the desire to return to reunite after a year of hard work, we implement the program'Trade Union Flight - Spring 2026' as a bridge connecting geographical distance, bringing workers back to the warm embrace of their families," said Mr. Phan Van Anh.
The Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that the scale of the program has continuously expanded over the years. From the start of 2023, to Binh Ngo Tet 2026, the program has organized 3 specialized flights, bringing more than 550 workers home.
These free air tickets are not only a means of transportation, but also'spring flights' full of love and responsibility. This is clear evidence of the deep concern of the Party, State and Trade Union organization for the lives of workers, especially those in difficult circumstances or with outstanding achievements in production," Mr. Phan Van Anh expressed.
Staying up all night because of too much happiness
About 27 years working as a worker in Dong Nai, Ms. Dao Thi Thinh has never dared to dream of a complete Tet reunion in her hometown of Hung Yen because of the burden of food and clothing. This year, the ticket from "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2026" has turned that dream into reality.
The economy is tight, if I return to my hometown, I will have to borrow money to pay tuition fees for my child after returning. Understanding the situation, I had to put aside my longing," Ms. Thinh emotionally shared.
This year, when she received a free air ticket from the "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2026" program for her and her child, Ms. Thinh stayed up all night because she was too happy.
This ticket is the bridge connecting love. My mother and I are grateful to the Party, the State and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for understanding and creating conditions for people far from home like us. I just hope this program will continue to be maintained so that workers in difficult circumstances have the opportunity to return home," Ms. Thinh expressed.
Ms. Thuy Ngan, currently working in Tan Binh ward, has also been home for Tet for 26 years. She shared before going to the airport gate: "I feel extremely happy and grateful. The program has shown the close attention of leaders not only to workers but also to the grassroots trade union officials - who also have a hard life".
In particular, each worker also received a gift worth 300,000 VND in cash right before boarding the plane as a warm New Year greeting from the Trade Union organization.
