"100% trust in the union"

At the survey on labor relations, workers and trade unions at Stanley Vietnam Electricity Company Limited at the end of August, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu asked the Company's Board of Directors, "What percentage do you trust the grassroots trade union?". Responding to the question, Mr. Maruyama Tsuyoshi - General Director of the Company affirmed: "00% trust in the Trade Union".

Explaining the above absolute belief, Mr. Maruyama Tsuyoshi analyzed very specifically the activities and jobs of the grassroots trade union during the development process of the Company. Accordingly, the Company has 2,299 employees, in order to listen, ensure good rights and regimes, and create relationships between employers and employees, the Executive Board of the Trade Union coordinates with the Company's Board of Directors to successfully organize an annual Labor Conference and Dialogue Conference between the Company's Board of Directors and representatives of the labor collective. The Trade Union coordinates with the Company's Board of Directors to effectively implement democratic regulations, labor regulations, Collective Labor Agreements, and dialogue regulations in accordance with the law, beneficial to employees, and annually amend and supplement them to suit the actual situation at the unit.

In addition, the Company's Trade Union and Board of Directors have coordinated to effectively take care of the material and spiritual lives of workers through organizing activities such as giving gifts for Tet, New Year, festivals, organizing and supporting spring travel and summer vacation funds, supporting unexpected difficulties, borrowing capital, building and maintaining stable operations of the Workers' Cultural Activity Point... These activities of the Trade Union have helped workers become more attached to the Company, considering the Company as their second home, thereby being more enthusiastic about their work, contributing more intelligence and effort. These are important factors to increase labor productivity and complete production and business goals.

Mr. Maruyama Tsuyoshi affirmed that the Company's grassroots trade union, headed by the Chairman of the grassroots trade union (Mr. Ngo Ngoc Vinh), is very prestigious among workers. Because the Company produces through a line, it has to operate continuously, there are times when there are many orders, but a group of workers does not want to work overtime. The company hopes that the Trade Union will discuss with workers so that they can arrange time and raise their awareness of dedication to help the enterprise ensure production and business activities. The union has done this. The Trade Union itself has promoted that employees always comply with the Company's regulations, avoiding unfortunate incidents during work.

That is, investing in the Trade Union so that the Trade Union can operate well will increase the motivation for workers to work. At that time, workers will work hard and will certainly increase labor productivity. But this round does not stop there, The company always pays attention to both funding and facilities for the Trade Union to operate and better takes care of the material and spiritual life of workers. Through that, it will motivate workers to stick together and contribute to the common development of the enterprise. When the Company develops, it will return to ensure the regime and take better care of workers. Giving - receiving - then giving again here is like that" - Mr. Maruyama Tsuyoshi affirmed.

Participating in stabilizing labor relations at enterprises through specific actions

In FDI enterprises in particular, to harmonize the rights of workers and enterprises, grassroots trade unions must always closely follow and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers as well as organize specific activities.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long - Chairman of the Trade Union of Matsuo Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that every year, the Executive Board of the Company's Trade Union coordinates with the Company's Board of Directors to organize a good Conference for employees with representatives from the Company's groups and departments to ensure that employees can directly speak and express their opinions before the conference. Thereby, improving democracy in the Company. Most importantly, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union organizes the collection, synthesis and classification of recommendations from union members and workers before the Conference; supervises the response and resolution process of the Board of Directors; publicizes the conference results at news boards and canteen for workers to clearly understand. In addition, the Executive Board of the Company's Trade Union selects long-term, practical recommendations for negotiation, including them in the Collective Labor Agreement, ensuring more favorable terms for employees than those prescribed by law.

The Executive Committee of the Company's Trade Union coordinates with employers to develop regulations on salary, bonus, welfare and work schedules with many good welfare regimes for union members and employees. For example, in addition to the Lunar New Year bonus, depending on the Company's profits, employees will be rewarded according to the profit ratio; employees will receive a special allowance of VND 500,000/month, a travel allowance of VND 400,000 or more/month, a housing allowance of VND 300,000/month, a subsidy for children under VND 200,000/child under 10 years old, a living allowance of VND 200,000/month; every year, employees receive travel support of VND 2 million/person from the Company.
