On January 11, information from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation (LDLD) said that the unit had just received a notice about the handling of a labor case of social insurance (BHXH) dispute by the People's Court of Region 1 - Khanh Hoa. The Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation is the representative unit authorized by the employee to initiate a lawsuit.

Previously, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation received authorization from 21 employees to represent and sue Mai Linh Group Joint Stock Company (No. 64 Hai Ba Trung, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) for social insurance debts, salary debts, deposits and other legal rights of employees.
According to the case file, the total amount of money the enterprise allegedly owed to 21 employees amounted to nearly 1.13 billion VND of social insurance money and more than 433 million VND of salary, deposit, and royalties, lasting for many years. Among them, some workers were owed more than 110 million VND.
Mr. H.T.T (resident of Nam Nha Trang ward) said that Mai Linh Company did not pay social insurance for him in the period from July 1, 2020 to March 1, 2023, with an amount of more than 47.7 million VND, while still deducting social insurance from his salary. In addition, he also owes more than 6.5 million VND in deposits.
I hope the Court will force the company to fully fulfill its social insurance obligations and pay outstanding debts to ensure the rights of employees," Mr. T. said.
In the same situation, Mr. H.T.H (resident of Bac Nha Trang ward) reflected that he owed social insurance in the same period, with an amount of more than 47.7 million VND. According to Mr. H., the enterprise did not fulfill the obligation to pay social insurance for a long time, directly affecting the social security rights of employees.
According to the notice, the People's Court of Region 1 - Khanh Hoa has accepted the first-instance labor case regarding social insurance disputes and deposit money. The case was accepted according to normal procedures, accompanied by many documents and evidence such as labor contracts, salary tables, social insurance contribution statements, resignation letters, decisions to resolve resignation and power of attorney of employees.
According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation, this is a typical case in the context that many workers at Mai Linh Nha Trang Co., Ltd. continuously reflect the situation of prolonged salary and social insurance debts.
Previously, the trade union had repeatedly dialogued, and the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province also issued a document reminding and requesting remediation, but businesses are still slow to fulfill their obligations.

Statistics from Khanh Hoa Provincial Social Insurance, Mai Linh Group Joint Stock Company (Nha Trang branch) and Mai Linh Nha Trang Co., Ltd. are two independent legal entities, both operating in the field of passenger transport, but both have a long history of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance debts.
As of August 31, 2025, the total debt of Mai Linh branch in Nha Trang is more than 5.1 billion VND, of which social insurance debt is more than 2.3 billion VND; while Mai Linh Nha Trang Co., Ltd. owes more than 772 million VND, of which social insurance debt is more than 711 million VND.
The prolonged debt situation has caused many workers to be upset, having to focus on hanging banners and slogans requesting businesses to resolve their rights, posing a risk of insecurity and disorder. The Social Insurance Agency has issued a document proposing handling violations and transferring the file to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police according to their authority.
The case is receiving great public attention, showing the determination of the trade union organization in protecting the legitimate and lawful rights of workers, and at the same time is a warning to businesses that are slow to fulfill social insurance obligations according to legal regulations.
