Attending the Conference were Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh, representatives of the leaders of the Command to protect President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, leaders of the Labor Federations of some provinces and cities, units, corporations, and general companies under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, units under the Vietnam National Shipping Lines and individuals who were commended and awarded this time.
Mr. Le Phan Linh - Chairman of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union - said that in 2023 and the first 8 months of 2024, although the Maritime industry was heavily affected by geopolitical and economic fluctuations in the world as well as the domestic socio-economic situation, and most recently, the extremely severe impact of natural disasters, storms and floods, the Corporation as well as all levels of the Corporation's trade unions, together with union members and workers, were still united and acted resolutely to complete the work program for 2023 and the first months of 2024.
Accordingly, in the first 8 months of 2024, the total seaport output of Vietnam National Shipping Lines was 97.2 million tons, reaching 78.6% of the plan; the sea transport output was 12.2 million tons, reaching 76.7% of the plan; consolidated revenue was 12,385 billion VND, reaching 92.1% of the plan; consolidated profit was 2,360 billion VND, reaching 86.3% of the plan.
Along with that, the reward work has been innovated, right person, right job, timely, transparent, focusing strongly on workers, which has truly been a motivation to motivate and encourage cadres, workers, officers, and crew members to overcome difficulties, strive to compete in labor, production, work, and strive to fulfill assigned duties and tasks.
At the Conference, Vice President Phan Van Anh, on behalf of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, awarded the "For the cause of the Trade Union" medal to 11 individuals and certificates of merit to 10 other outstanding individuals.
The Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union also awarded certificates of merit to 95 individuals, including 39 outstanding workers, officers and crew members; 29 outstanding trade union officials and 27 outstanding business leaders for workers.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor acknowledged and commended the achievements that cadres, workers, officers and crew members of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines have achieved in the past time.
"The Corporation's Trade Union needs to continue to direct Trade Unions at all levels to do a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees, especially taking care of the 2025 Tet holiday for employees; doing a good job of developing union members, emulating and rewarding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, innovating working methods, meeting the requirements of the current period.
For those individuals who were awarded this time, we request that they continue to promote and contribute more to their units and businesses," Mr. Phan Van Anh emphasized.
