Speaking at the event Announcing initiatives to promote AI startups and popularize AI knowledge to the community, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized: The Party and Government of Vietnam have identified Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation as the shortest way, a vital factor for Vietnam to realize the aspiration for rapid, sustainable, inclusive and autonomous development to successfully implement the country's two 100-year goals.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, Science, Technology and Innovation are not only a driving force for economic growth, but also an inevitable path to build a prosperous Vietnam, increase labor productivity, national competitiveness, protect the environment, respond to climate change, and improve the quality of life of the people.

The Deputy Prime Minister assessed the cooperation between NIC and Google as very meaningful, contributing to promoting Vietnam's startup and innovation ecosystem in strategic technology fields, especially Artificial Intelligence.

This is also a practical action to concretize the policy and orientation of prioritizing research, training, incubation and application of AI in Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of Science and Technology, Innovation and National Digital Transformation.

According to Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC), "Within the framework of strategic cooperation between the National Innovation Center (NIC) and Google, the two sides have been implementing a number of programs to develop digital human resources and promote the innovation and startup ecosystem in Vietnam.

The program revolves around 3 pillars of cooperation: Google Career Certificates, Google for Startups Support and Google for Developers Program.

The new programs announced today are not only a continuation, but also a step forward in the common commitment between the two sides. Based on the successes we have achieved, we are setting even higher goals - systematic training and empowering the innovative generation, who will play a pioneering role in the next economic growth wave of the country, with the Google AI platform - Mr. Vu Quoc Huy said.

Mr. Marc Woo - CEO, Google Vietnam shared - the opportunity to develop an AI-led economy in Vietnam is huge. Artificial Intelligence is forecast to bring economic benefits of up to 1.89 trillion VND (equivalent to 79.3 billion USD) by 2030, equivalent to nearly 12% of Vietnam's GDP.

"Vietnam is not only keeping up with global AI trends but is also leading, with the number of AI startups increasing by more than 4.5 times since 2021. In that context, Google is committed to accompanying Vietnam's economic development" - Mr. Marc Woo emphasized
