At the program, Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan - Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized that lunch meals are of direct significance to health, physical condition and labor productivity, because this is a meal that workers use regularly during the working process.
Therefore, ensuring adequate nutrition, food safety, reasonable rations and suitable to actual price conditions is a content that needs to be regularly concerned by businesses and trade union organizations.
The survey content this time is carried out from many perspectives, including questionnaires for employees, trade union officials and employers.
At each business, the delegation surveyed 70 workers to collect information on meal quality, fullness, deliciousness, nutritional composition, portion size, price and workers' desires for lunch meals.
In addition, the delegation surveyed the activities of the trade union in dialogue, negotiation, supervision of the implementation of lunch meals as well as receiving and reflecting opinions of workers.
One of the contents of concern to the delegation is the impact of price fluctuations on the quality of lunch meals.
From the opinions of employees and the reality at the enterprise, the delegation has more basis to assess whether the current cost level meets nutritional requirements or not. Through this, research and propose appropriate solutions on rations, food levels and menus.
Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan emphasized that trade union organizations need to continue to promote their representative role, dialogue and negotiation with employers to gradually improve the quality of lunch meals; and at the same time strengthen supervision, listen to workers' opinions, and promptly reflect arising issues.
The ultimate goal is to ensure that workers have nutritious, safe, and suitable meals, thereby protecting their health and maintaining energy during work.
Through survey results at enterprises, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will have more basis to comprehensively assess the implementation process of Resolution 7c/NQ-BCH and Conclusion No. 03/KL-BCH.
On that basis, organize summaries and issue conclusions to continue implementing or building new resolutions with contents that are more suitable to practical requirements.
