The general objective of the project is to improve health, reduce the incidence of reproductive health and sexual health diseases of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones (IPs), contributing to increasing labor productivity for enterprises.
Ho Chi Minh City also sets detailed goals and targets by 2030:
100% of local authorities organize inter-sectoral inspection and supervision teams to implement reproductive health care policies for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones in the area;
Over 50% of enterprises have regulations and policies on reproductive health care that are more beneficial to employees in the Collective Labor Agreement, and at the same time organize practical activities to fulfill social responsibility in reproductive health care for workers;
90% of businesses cooperate with medical examination and treatment facilities to organize communication and consultation combined with providing reproductive health care services suitable to the living conditions and working hours of workers, with reasonable prices and ensuring quality according to regulations of the Ministry of Health;
80% of public and non-public medical examination and treatment facilities have the capacity to organize consultation and provide basic service packages in reproductive health care for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones;
90% of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones use reproductive health and sexual health care services, including preventive services and screening for infectious diseases and reproductive tract cancers;
90% of workers preparing to get married receive premarital counseling and health check-ups...
To achieve the above targets, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has proposed many groups of solutions.
In particular, focusing on organizing communication activities on the importance of health care, especially reproductive health care for workers in many diverse and rich forms; mobilizing civil society organizations to pilot reproductive health care intervention models for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health.
At the same time, organize and diversify retraining and new training for medical staff, including those working in medical enterprises and trade union officials at all levels in industrial parks and export processing zones, on consulting and providing reproductive health care services for workers.
Implementing types of reproductive health care services suitable for workers in terms of time and location (organizing mobile clinics, organizing consultation sessions combined with providing reproductive health care services for workers, pre-marital counseling during health festivals, workers' months, etc.).
Ho Chi Minh City also built a pilot model of counseling and providing reproductive health care services for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones in the public and socialized health system...
