Ending the first day of competition at the An Giang Provincial Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers (CNVCLĐ) Sports Festival in 2026, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the completed events, including basketball, women's doubles badminton and the Third Prize in men's football, creating a lively atmosphere for the next competition events.

In the basket throwing event, 1 First Prize (5 Gold Medals) was awarded to Kien Giang Canned Food Joint Stock Company, 1 Second Prize (5 Silver Medals), 3 Third Prizes (15 Bronze Medals) and 16 Consolation Prizes were awarded to teams with excellent achievements. With 43 participating teams, this is the sport with the largest number of registered teams in the Sports Festival, creating many exciting and engaging competitions.

In the women's doubles badminton event, in the women's doubles event for the age group of 35 years old and younger, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize (2 Gold Medals) to the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development unit, 1 Second Prize (2 Silver Medals) and 2 Third Prizes (4 Bronze Medals). For the women's doubles event for the age group of 36 years old and younger, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize (2 Gold Medals) to the Tinh Bien Medical Center unit, 1 Second Prize (2 Silver Medals) and 1 Third Prize (2 Bronze Medals) to excellent athlete pairs.


On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 Third Prizes in men's football, equivalent to 20 Bronze Medals, to teams with high achievements after the third-place matches. The football event started on July 22 with the participation of 32 teams, which is one of the events that attracted a large number of fans to watch and cheer throughout the days of the Sports Festival.
After the opening ceremony on the morning of July 25, athletes entered to compete in many events of the Sports Festival. The Sports Festival is organized by the Provincial Labor Federation in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports. This year's Sports Festival attracted a large number of union members and workers to participate with 5 sports. Among them, football has 32 teams; women's soft volleyball 8 teams; tug-of-war 18 teams; basketball shooting 43 teams. Badminton alone gathered 103 pairs of athletes to compete.
Organizing awards immediately after the end of the competition contents not only promptly encourages and motivates collectives and individuals to achieve high results but also contributes to spreading the movement of physical training and sports among union members and workers, strengthening exchanges and solidarity between agencies, units and businesses in the province.

According to the Organizing Committee, on July 26, the Sports Festival will continue to take place the remaining events of women's soft volleyball, tug-of-war, men's doubles badminton, mixed doubles, remaining age group events, along with the final matches of some sports and closing ceremonies, and overall team awards.
