Responding to the peak emulation campaign "30 days towards the Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress" launched by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, on September 19, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor organized the handover of 2 "Union Shelters" to union members of the Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company's grassroots union (CDCS) with difficult housing circumstances.
Ms. Bui Thi Yen Luong, a union member of Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company, said that her family of 6 people, raising 4 young children, has an average income of only over 2.3 million VND/person/month. According to Ms. Luong, she and her husband and children used to live with her parents-in-law in cramped conditions.
Up to now, thanks to the support of 60 million VND from the Dong Thap Golden Heart Social Charity Fund Branch, 15 million VND from the Difficult Subsidy Fund of Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company and the contribution of the family, the new solid house with an area of 63 m2 has been completed with a total cost of about 200 million VND.
Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Loan, also a union member of Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company, shared that her family has 4 members, 2 young children, and an income of about 2.5 million VND/person/month. Previously, her temporary house was severely degraded, the roof was leaking corrugated iron, the wooden pillars were rotten, and the walls had to rely on the neighbor's house. Thanks to the support of the Dong Thap Golden Heart Fund, 15 million VND from the Difficult Subsidy Fund of Vinh Hoan Company and the support from her family, she was able to build a new, spacious house with an area of 83 m2, with a total cost of about 160 million VND.
moved at the ceremony, Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Loan said that having a new house is the family's long-standing dream. Thanks to the attention of the Trade Union organization and the support from the Golden Heart Fund, her family has had stable conditions, thereby working with peace of mind and taking care of their children.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - President of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor congratulated the two union members on receiving a spacious and solid "Union Shelter"; at the same time, expressed her joy that the Union organization continues to provide practical support to union members in difficult circumstances.
Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui emphasized that the "Union Shelter" program is one of the key activities, with profound humanitarian significance, helping union members and workers settle down, stabilize their lives, and increase motivation to stick with businesses and trade union organizations.
This is also a project to celebrate major holidays in 2025, the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, contributing to the locality in reducing poverty, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas and spreading the spirit of solidarity and affection of the Trade Union organization.
Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui hopes that after receiving support, union members will know how to respect and maintain their new home; at the same time, make more efforts in working, self-training and actively participating in emulation movements launched by the Trade Union organization.
The Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor affirmed that in the coming time, the Trade Unions at all levels will continue to promote the spirit of "Where workers are in difficulty, there is a Trade Union", promote the mobilization of social resources, bring more happy shelters, and contribute to better care for union members and workers.
