The Ao Dai and Ao Ba Ba costumes have accompanied the history of the Vietnamese people. Ao Dai and Ao Ba Ba are simple costumes in daily life, going through many historical changes and cultural acculturation, today, Ao Dai and Ao Ba Ba are still formal traditional costumes in important family and community occasions or in major national holidays.
The Chairman of the Ninh Kieu District Labor Federation said that ao dai and ao ba ba are increasingly popular among women in offices and businesses. Ao dai is also worn at important national events and at international forums. Ao dai has naturally become the formal and elegant "national costume" of Vietnamese women.
