Technology innovation, digital transformation, and green transformation are key solutions to help Vinatex improve competitiveness and move towards sustainable development.

Transformation for sustainable development

Over 30 years of construction and development, Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has played a core role in the textile and garment industry. In the period 2021-2025, the Group promoted circular economy, digital transformation, green transformation, maintaining stability throughout the system, without labor cuts. Average income increased from 7.8 million VND in 2021 to 11.2 million VND/person/month in 2025.

Attached to Dong Xuan Knitting Co., Ltd. (under Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group) for 16 years, Ms. Le Thi Oanh - Foreman of Hung Yen Garment Enterprise - is the person who directly witnessed the enterprise's innovation process.

According to Ms. Oanh, the clearest change is that the factory system, machinery, and equipment are invested more modernly. Investing in new machinery helps improve productivity, product quality and work efficiency.

In particular, the company has deployed TRE software system to monitor productivity in real time.

If in the past, contracting and monitoring output were done manually with paperwork, now all data is displayed on the system. Managers like me or workers can monitor the productivity of each line, each individual to promptly adjust and ensure production progress" - Ms. Oanh said.

Besides technology innovation, businesses also pay special attention to safety and health factors. According to Ms. Oanh, Dong Xuan Knitting always aims for products that are safe for users, while ensuring a safe working environment for workers. All raw materials and chemicals used in production are controlled according to safety standards.

Mr. Nguyen Tho Tuan - CEO of Dong Xuan Knitting Co., Ltd. - said that all wastewater at the dyeing plant is treated to meet standard A before being discharged into the environment. All types of chemicals and dyes meet Bluesign and ZDHC standards, contributing to limiting the generation of hazardous waste.

Responding to the trend of green production in the world, the company has converted thermal boiler and oil furnace systems from coal fuel to biomass fuel using wood and forestry product processing by-products. This solution contributes to reducing the use of fossil fuels, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and towards the goal of green and sustainable production.

Taking workers as the center of development

According to Mr. Cao Huu Hieu - General Director of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, in the new development phase, the textile and garment industry will not only be assessed in terms of scale or labor quantity but also in terms of growth quality and added value of products.

Therefore, Vinatex has identified focusing on four key areas. First, investing in modern technology and automation to improve product quality, while using energy economically and efficiently. Second, developing raw materials and product lines with high added value, gradually shifting production methods from processing to more advanced models. Third, promoting digital transformation, innovating management platforms at member units. Fourth, focusing on training human resources, especially future management staff.

General Director of Vinatex - Mr. Cao Huu Hieu emphasized: "In all conditions, the Group's top priority is to maintain customers, ensure orders so that employees have stable jobs. In parallel with that are solutions to improve productivity, invest in technology, and improve the working environment to increase income for employees.

Mr. Cao Huu Hieu affirmed that improving overall productivity is the core solution to both stabilize jobs, improve income and create added value for businesses.

In more than 30 years of construction and development, with outstanding achievements in production and business, management innovation, taking care of workers' lives, fulfilling social responsibility and contributing to the development of the textile and garment industry as well as the country's economy, Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group has been awarded many emulation titles and noble forms of commendation by the Party, State and many ministries and sectors.
