After 8 years of establishment and development, Vietnam Vaccination Joint Stock Company (VNVC) continues to strive to position high-quality vaccination services. The construction of the VNVC vaccine factory sets a new milestone, contributing to soon making Vietnam a vaccine- sheltered country to ensure health security.

Creating a "new vaccination" service

More than 8 years ago, service vaccination, especially vaccines against dangerous diseases for children in Vietnam, was very difficult, in terms of both vaccine source and facilities, quality of vaccination services. In June 2017, VNVC established and put into operation the VNVC Vaccination System with the first vaccination center in Hanoi.

After 8 years, VNVC has reached more than 220 modern vaccination centers nationwide (as of May 2025), striving to build and position high-quality, safe, professional vaccination services at reasonable costs, contributing significantly to changing the face of the new service vaccination industry in Vietnam.

VNVC is the first and only vaccination unit in Vietnam to invest heavily in a cold chain system, a refrigerated warehouse for vaccine storage that meets GSP international standards at each center, and synchronizes standards to each vaccination room to serve customers. The system has the largest team of high-quality professional personnel in the country, with more than 10,000 doctors and nurses with full vaccination safety certificates from the Ministry of Health and professional medical staff and employees, regularly trained in professional knowledge and skills.

With efforts to innovate in the field of vaccination, VNVC has made Vietnam a country with a high coverage rate of vaccines outside the expanded immunization program in the world, increasing the vaccination rate of important vaccines in children. In particular, VNVC has contributed to raising the rate of adults' vaccination against diseases to an unprecedented high nationwide, increasing from less than 5% to nearly 40% of the customer ratio (in 2024).

Coming to the goal of vaccine autonomy

In January 2025, VNVC announced the construction of the VNVC Vaccine and Biological Factory in Long An province, which is the first factory to fully meet international standards on GMP of Europe, the US, the World Health Organization (EU, FDA, PIC/S, WHO) and meet the highest standards on technology and environment in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Ngo Chi Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of VNVC immunization system, the construction of VNVC vaccine and biological factory set a new and important milestone in the sustainable development strategy for the vaccination industry in Vietnam, contributing to our country to become a vaccine autonomous, ensuring medical security, improving the competitiveness of Vietnam's pharmaceutical industry in the international scope.

We really need to improve and master modern vaccine production technologies, according to new international standards and strongly expand production capacity to quickly produce high-quality vaccines Made in Vietnam, thereby meeting the increasing vaccination needs of people in the new context. The efforts of vaccine companies to participate in production chains are an important strategy to proactively produce vaccines, limit vaccine shortages, and help Vietnam be proactive in epidemic prevention strategies - Mr. Ngo Chi Dung emphasized.

Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said that in the context of the world facing many challenges of infectious diseases, the need for research, development and vaccine production is becoming increasingly urgent. The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the efforts of VNVC and research organizations that have constantly searched for and innovated to help Vietnam be autonomous in vaccine solutions, ensuring a stable and high-quality supply source.

Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen commented that VNVC's capacity development, building a highly qualified team, promoting clinical trial research, and creating a quality management system that meets international standards are also extremely important.

This is the core factor for Vietnam to not only produce vaccines for domestic demand but also reach out to the international market, he emphasized.

This unit has reached agreements with the world's leading major partners such as the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the Russian National Center for Epidemiology and Bi Bi Biology Gamaleya; Russian pharmaceutical group Binnopharm, one of Russia's largest pharmaceutical manufacturers; Sanofi Pharmaceutical Company (France); Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company (USA) ... to share experiences, transfer vaccine production technology with modern technologies.

In particular, the strategic cooperation agreement between VNVC and RDIF took place in the presence of General Secretary To Lam and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This cooperation opens up opportunities for Vietnam to access and test vaccines on the most advanced mRNA technology that Russia is promoting research and development. The two sides will discuss to open up opportunities for Vietnam to have early access to potential Russian mRNA technology cancer vaccines, not only to conduct clinical research and commercialize products but also to be able to produce directly at the VNVC vaccine and food product factory in Long An province.

In 2025, in the 21st Vinh Quang Vietnam program organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor under the direction of Lao Dong Newspaper, Vietnam Vaccin Joint Stock Company (VNVC) is one of 14 groups nominated for the honor.
