Speaking at the award ceremony on March 17 in Hanoi, MSc. Dr. Nghiem Tran Dung - representative of the VNVC Vaccination System - said that over the past 8 years, VNVC has implemented the vaccination of millions of safe measles vaccines, protecting the health of millions of children and adults. However, with the difficulties of vaccination after the COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of children and adults may not have been fully vaccinated with this vaccine in both the expanded immunization program and service vaccination.
This could also be one of the reasons why the measles epidemic this year has many serious cases, complicated developments, and is at risk of breaking out into an epidemic as it is now.
Currently, VNVC has nearly 220 vaccination centers nationwide with more than 4,000 vaccination lines. However, to create effective vaccine coverage quickly, it is necessary to coordinate between the VNVC Vaccination System and the Expanded Immunization Program (TCMR) of localities. Therefore, as soon as the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Health to urgently speed up the vaccination of disease prevention and control, VNVC was ready to contribute and donate a large number of measles vaccines to support localities in timely vaccination and disease prevention for the community.
This activity not only demonstrates social responsibility, but is also our commitment to join hands to prevent the epidemic and protect the health of millions of Vietnamese children and families in many different forms.
Previously, in September 2024, thousands of doctors and staff of VNVC participated in the Measles Vaccination Campaign organized by Ho Chi Minh City, contributing facilities and medical supplies, mobilizing teams to participate with the city's medical forces to get vaccinated against measles" - MSc. Dr. Nghiem Tran Dung shared.
At the event, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, thanked the VNVC Vaccination System for its support.
Supporting a large number of vaccines in a very short time is a challenge for the Ministry of Health. In that context, the Ministry of Health has received valuable support, promptly 500,000 doses of measles vaccine from VNVC. This vaccine can be delivered immediately to localities, contributing to speeding up the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister - Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong said.
On the same day, the VNVC Vaccination System also officially launched the "Joining hands to prevent measles" campaign nationwide to actively respond to the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Health.

In which MVVAC is a single measles vaccine. MMR-II and Priorix are vaccines that coordinate the prevention of 3 diseases including measles -olds - rubella in the same injection, improving disease prevention efficiency, saving vaccination costs.
In epidemic areas and high-risk areas, children vaccinated against measles from 6 months to under 9 months old are considered to be 0 measles vaccines. Children need to continue to be vaccinated with measles vaccines from 9 months or 12 months old according to the usual vaccination regimen" - Dr. Bach Thi Chinh added.
