The first spring of working life
In the early 20th century, the ideology of the Vietnam revolutionary trade union of comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc was disseminated and penetrated into the workers, leading to the establishment of the Bac Ky Red Trade Union established and developed by comrade Nguyen Duc Canh nationwide. The struggle of workers under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam contributed to the people of all classes to build a state of the people, by the people, for the people in 1945 and the failed failed resistance war in 1975.
Revolutionary trade union ideology guides workers to escape the most extreme situation when they are oppressed by capitalists, colonialists, and feudal classes, becoming masters of society. The close relationship between the Communist Party, the Trade Union organization, and the workers' movement is very clear, playing an important role in the national liberation revolution and national reunification. This is the first Workers' Spring Life.
In addition to many activities that have been shaped, in the 40 years the country has carried out the renovation process, many policies and activities that have decided to change the lives of workers have been born.
The 13th month salary is a meeting of corporate culture and the persistent and convincing movement of the Trade Union, becoming a job with great coverage, bringing overwhelming joy to workers. The unification of salary, bonus, Tet holiday and opening date helps workers proactively plan Tet holidays.
Currently, the Trade Union and employers of many enterprises also organize year-end parties for workers, giving Tet gifts to everyone, showing true respect for workers.
From the ticket for love to Tet Sum vay at the grassroots trade union, at the provincial level. 17 years ago, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation initiated the program "Love ticket". At that time, it was very difficult to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to the Central and Northern provinces during Tet, the trade union organized safe, convenient trips, a reasonable and free route, bringing true happiness to workers.
By 2015, implementing the direction of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Lao Dong Newspaper had organized Tet Sum Vay and supported localities in implementing it, officially becoming an activity nationwide. Tet Sum vay has many new activities, suitable for workers in different regions, and will later be attended, encouraged, and shared with workers by Party and State leaders. Tet Sum vay reflects the cultural aspirations of the Vietnamese people, demonstrating understanding, perseverance, creativity and determination, should become one of the typical union activities.
The regional minimum wage has been implemented since 2008. The Trade Union organization plays a proactive and active role in the National Wage Council and has many creative activities at the grassroots level for the rights of workers and to build more stable labor relations. Although basically closely following the regional minimum wage, after 17 years of adjustment, workers' wages have also improved, which is the biggest expectation every year.
New happiness in the renovation era
40 years of the country's renovation, the children of the first working class of this period have matured, but the worry about food and money, especially the labor-intensive workers in the industry, is still in their hearts, in great need of fundamental decisions.
Currently, the space for economic development is larger, but workers still focus mainly on developed economic zones and want to reduce costs and enjoy a good living environment. More than 10 years ago, the union proposed and implemented a policy on electricity prices for boarding houses, bringing great joy to workers, but it has not been popular.
The living environment of the people has improved in many aspects, so it is necessary to have local social welfare policies, creating more opportunities for the quality of life of workers to improve. In the long term, it is necessary to focus on developing "moderate boarding houses".
The boarding house was born when there were concentrated workers, becoming a center for gathering, mobilizing, and united in revolutionary activities of the working class. The modern workers' group has both inherited and developed according to the urban beautification plan, with periodic programs to contribute to reducing living expenses for workers.
From the program of solidarity to contribute finance to workers in difficulty to borrow money to pay tuition fees for children, in 2020, the policy of supporting preschool tuition fees for children of industrial park workers was born and now the policy of exempting tuition fees for preschool and primary school students is a social welfare with profound humanitarian significance, opening up opportunities for workers' children to dream of a more prosperous future.
The Trade Union closely coordinates with employers to build a good working environment like a second home for workers, so that workers can trust and have the opportunity to stay with the enterprise for a long time; train a sense of responsibility, self-awareness, and creativity not only in the workforce but also in business development.
Workers need to choose a reasonable overtime period to optimize their professional life, spend time with their family, raise children, rest to recharge their labor and constantly study to improve their working capacity, approach new occupations in line with changes in businesses as well as society in the era of scientific and technological advances.
Guaranteed legal rights and open welfare have been and are the motto of action of trade unions at all levels. Despite achieving important results, there are still many challenges, especially negotiation on wages, law enforcement for workers, requiring courage, intelligence, continuous efforts of union officials and awareness, the ability to protect the rights of workers. The health recovery regime, especially for workers who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, and work in harsh and toxic environments, needs to be seriously and regularly paid attention to.
The second Workers' Spring is the happiness of workers in the new era. Workers play an important role in rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, have jobs that adapt to all changes, are respected by employers, have a good standard of living, have access to and enjoy social security policies, social welfare, have access to housing services, environmental sanitation, education, health care, etc.
Workers' Spring Life is a result of the policies of the Party and State; from the efforts of the Trade Union organization; from the high sense of responsibility, the persistent efforts, and the right goals of workers to overcome difficulties, and to be able to create Spring Life for themselves.
The most important thing is the policy of building and developing the trade union movement, the initiative and creativity of the Trade Union and in coordination with employers will create success, the prosperity of the Spring of Happiness will soon come to workers.
