For football lovers, the 2026 World Cup is not only the biggest sports festival on the planet but also a source of spiritual encouragement, helping them alleviate the hardships of life away from home.
These days, the atmosphere towards the 2026 World Cup is spreading everywhere. For many workers working in industrial parks in Hanoi, although they do not have much time to watch live matches, they still pay special attention to the biggest football festival in the world.
Mr. Nong To Hieu (from Tuyen Quang), a worker working at Thang Long Industrial Park (Hanoi), said that he is a football lover but it is very difficult to have the conditions to fully watch the matches.
Every day, he works about 12 hours and mainly registers for night shifts from 6 pm to 6 am the next morning. This is also the time when many World Cup matches take place or in the early morning, when he is still working or has returned to his rented room to rest after a sleepless night.

I really want to watch football but conditions don't allow it. My rented room also doesn't have a TV, so watching big matches is not complete. I plan to only watch the schedule and then update the results of the teams I care about," Mr. Hieu shared.
According to the male worker, the spiritual life of many workers today is still lacking. Outside of working hours, entertainment activities mainly revolve around smartphones.
After long shifts, most workers only want to rest to regain strength for the next working day.
There are not many entertainment venues around the industrial park either. Therefore, major sports events like the World Cup become a special occasion for us to join the exciting atmosphere, to watch stars and top world teams play," Mr. Hieu said.
Sharing the same passion for the round ball, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, a worker at Quang Minh Industrial Park (Hanoi), said that he has more favorable conditions when working during office hours and only works overtime about two days a week.
Thanks to that, he can arrange time to watch his favorite matches. As a long-time fan of Argentine national team player Lionel Messi, Mr. Hieu said he will try to watch all matches with the participation of this team.
I am very much looking forward to matches with Argentina playing. As for other teams, I often follow the results and the highlights after the match," Mr. Hieu shared.

According to him, the World Cup is not only a playground for national teams but also an opportunity for workers to have more joy, more stories to exchange with colleagues after work hours.
Amidst the cycle of work, overtime and livelihood pressure, top matches become precious relaxing moments for many workers.
Although they can only monitor via phone or update results after work, the joy from football still contributes to fostering spiritual life, adding energy for them to continue to be attached to work and life in a foreign land.
