On October 30, the Thai Binh Provincial Federation of Labor (FLD) held a seminar on "Building a team of grassroots trade union chairmen (GTU) outside the state sector to meet the requirements in the new situation".
Attending the discussion were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Vu Thanh Van - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Binh province; Nguyen Van Giang - Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee and leaders of a number of units, Chairmen of Trade Unions with many union members in Thai Binh province.
At the seminar, delegates listened to an objective and comprehensive assessment of the current situation of the team of Trade Union Chairmen; the implementation of trade union tasks by Trade Union Chairmen at present; pointed out strengths, shortcomings, and limitations... On that basis, representatives of Trade Unions discussed and exchanged experiences, methods, and skills of Trade Union Chairmen in the province; discussed and exchanged tasks and solutions to build a team of Trade Union Chairmen that meets the operational requirements of trade union organizations.
The contents discussed and proposed at the seminar were synthesized and studied by the superior trade union to be included in the solutions for trade union activities in the coming time. Thereby, it aims to propose tasks and solutions to implement the breakthrough of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union on "Focusing on building a team of Trade Union Chairmen to meet the requirements of the tasks, especially Trade Union Chairmen at non-state enterprises"; continue to effectively and qualitatively implement Resolution No. 03/NQ-TLD, dated January 11, 2019 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (term XII) on trade union cadre work in the new situation.
Raising awareness among the team of Trade Union Chairmen about the functions and tasks of the trade union organization; tasks, powers, skills, and working methods of the Trade Union Chairmen; and innovation in trade union organization and activities to meet the requirements in the new situation.
