This evening (November 11), in Hanoi, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the 16th "For the Cause of Great National Unity" Press Award ceremony, 2023-2024.
This is one of the practical activities towards the 94th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam National United Front - Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024).
As one of the important and prestigious press awards, the Press Award "For the cause of Great National Unity" chaired by the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front was first held in 2003.
Over the past 20 years, the Award has always received the support and positive response of news agencies and journalists nationwide, with the number of entries each year being higher than the previous year.
Continuing the success of previous events, in the 16th season, the Press Award "For the Cause of Great National Unity" continues to attract the participation of many press agencies at the central and local levels.
After 2 years of implementation, as of July 31, 2024, the Organizing Committee of the Award received 2,135 valid entries in 5 categories: Print, electronic, radio, television and press photos from over 100 central and local press agencies.
The Steering Committee, the Preliminary and Final Jury were serious, responsible and impartial in the process of directing, organizing the judging, discussing and reaching a consensus in selecting and proposing awards for 90 outstanding works in 5 types of journalism: print, radio, television, electronic and photojournalism.
According to the assessment of the Final Jury, the 90 award-winning works this year are impressive, outstanding works with valuable discoveries and ideas, conveying to society and the community highly constructive messages, close to reality, relevant, and filled with the breath of life.
Thereby contributing to encouraging and promoting the spirit of solidarity and creativity among the people, for the common goal of building and firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc.
In the 16th season, 2023-2024, there were 5 works winning A prizes, 14 B prizes, 29 C prizes, 42 consolation prizes awarded to outstanding press works in various press categories.
At the award ceremony, Lao Dong Newspaper won 1 consolation prize with the series of 4 articles "Leaving no one behind: Great solidarity for a strong Vietnam" by the group of authors Tran Van Vuong, Pham Van Dong, Nguyen Thi Lan Nhi.
