On the evening of November 11, the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival took place at the Hoan Kiem Theater.
This year’s HANIFF brings together 117 works from 20 countries and territories, including 65 foreign films, along with 52 Vietnamese films. The festival’s judges are also prestigious names in the film industry.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director of the Department of Cinema Vi Kien Thanh said: "The 7th Hanoi International Film Festival affirms the prestige and is a symbol of the creative and integrated spirit of Vietnamese cinema and 51 cinemas in the world with an increasingly professional scale and organization, while creating a unique mark of a film festival held in the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi People's Committee jointly organized a solemn film event with the participation of 800 Vietnamese and international delegates; 117 films from 51 countries and territories were screened at 3 cinema complexes: National Cinema Center, BHD, CGV.
In-depth professional activities such as two seminars, exhibitions, Film Production Project Market, and exchange sessions between artists and film crews with audiences before or after screenings at theaters have created a vibrant, colorful atmosphere, attracting a large audience of Hanoi audiences and international tourists, contributing to the exchange and learning between Vietnamese and international filmmakers, promoting the development of tourism in the capital Hanoi and Vietnam."
After 5 days of organization, with many film programs and exciting and attractive activities, the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival has left a strong impression on international and Vietnamese film artists, creating a warm artistic atmosphere for the capital's audience and a desire for creativity for Vietnamese and international film artists.
At the awards ceremony, Iran's "Hard Shell" won big with 3 awards, including important categories: Best Feature Film, Best Feature Film Director, Best Feature Film Actor.
Of the 52 Vietnamese films participating in the festival, "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story" was the only film to win an award, with Ngoc Xuan winning the Promising Young Actor award.
This year, the Hanoi People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to directors and screenwriters of films about Hanoi, who have contributed to the socio-economic development of the capital.
The artists receiving certificates of merit include People's Artist Viet Huong (Le Thi Bang Huong), director of the film "Ngan nam senh phach" produced by Sao Khue Film Studio; Meritorious Artist Phi Tien Son, director of the film "Dao, pho and piano" produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I; Meritorious Artist Nguyen Duc Viet and screenwriter Nguyen Thi Hong Ngat, film "Hong Ha nu si" produced by Nam Phuong Media Company Limited.
The award for Vietnamese Film Favorite by Audiences in the “Contemporary Vietnamese Film Program” went to the film “Our Blossom” - a co-production between Vietnam and Hungary.
The Film Project Market Awards included First Prize for the project “Red lights blue angels” by director Afsana Mimi (Bangladesh); the Jury Prize went to the project “Rahma” by director Faysal Soysal (Turkey).
During the closing ceremony and award ceremony of HANIFF, the appearance of singers as guest artists also attracted the attention of the audience.
Soobin Hoang Son and Cuong Seven performed 2 songs "Sitting on the boat's side" and "Drum of rice". (S) TRONG Trong Hieu was also a "talent" who participated in the performance.
Singer Thu Minh was the closing performer, showing off her powerful voice with the movie's soundtrack song "Never Enough".

- Promising young actor (18 to 35 years old): Actress Ngoc Xuan, Vietnamese film "Once Upon a Love story"
- Jury Prize for Short Film: “The Rubber Tappers” from Cambodia
- Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet) Award for Feature Film: “Liar” from the Russian Federation
