Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is promoting its business strategy by expanding the Claude Cowork platform with a series of plugins (extended utilities) and new connectors, allowing deep integration of AI into the internal workforce of organizations.
This move comes after the Cowork model attracted great attention in the global market during the testing phase last month.
According to the official announcement, from February 24, businesses can connect Claude Cowork to familiar tools such as Google Drive, Gmail and many other platforms.
In addition, companies can also build custom plugins for fields such as finance, engineering, human resources or knowledge management, helping to encode internal processes into specialized AI assistants for each department.
Anthropic said the new plugins allow businesses to create an "internal app store" to distribute virtual assistants throughout the organization.
This turns Claude from a regular chatbot into an intelligent collaborative system, capable of performing many tasks instead of employees based on real-time data and context of the business.
Kate Jensen, Anthropic's Americas regional leader, shared that the company's goal is to make technology more accessible, so that any employee can use it.
Meanwhile, Peter McCrory, Head of Economics at Anthropic, said that there is currently no evidence that AI is replacing labor on a large scale, although concerns still exist in the market.
Meanwhile, Anthropic is building a strong position in the enterprise AI segment, which is said to account for about 80% of the company's revenue.
However, the company must compete directly with giants such as OpenAI and Google, which are also focusing on high-value business customers.
To create differentiation, Anthropic develops products that are deeply integrated into practical workflows instead of just providing independent chatbots.
Claude Cowork has the ability to collect context from the internal system, support management and automate many tasks, from data analysis to document processing.
The company expects this platform to become a daily work tool for the intellectual workforce, including non-technical professionals.
After the announcement of Claude Cowork's expansion, many mixed reactions appeared on social networks, from excitement to concern.
Some technology experts believe that AI in the form of "agents" can disrupt the service software industry (SaaS) and traditional information technology, even causing stock volatility.
Earlier this week, after Anthropic announced the Claude Code tool that could support modernizing the COBOL writing system, the stock of multinational technology corporation IBM fell about 13.2%, to $223.35 at the close of the trading session.
IBM is famous for its large-scale transaction processing computer systems, where COBOL still plays an important role.
However, some analysts believe that market volatility may only be short-term, while the long-term impact of AI on jobs and businesses still needs time to verify.
