Adaptive Power Mode feature - smart adaptive battery saving mode is considered a notable upgrade on iOS 26. This is considered the next step in the effort to increase battery life by taking advantage of artificial intelligence (AI).
Adaptive Power Mode helps the iPhone automatically adjust factors such as screen brightness, background refresh rate, or turn on "low power source" mode when needed, to optimize real-time battery consumption.
Unlike traditional savings, this new feature works more flexibly, minimizing the impact on daily performance.
However, because Apple Intelligence only supports the iPhone 15 Pro series and above, the Adaptive Power Mode feature will not be available for models such as the regular iPhone 15, 14 Pro Max or lower generation devices.
This is a regret for many loyal users, because many devices still work well but do not have enough configuration to run local AI from Apple.
This difference shows Apple's new direction, when focusing on devices using the A17 Pro chip or later, which are equipped with the ability to handle heavy AI tasks.
The Adaptive Power feature is currently available in the beta and is expected to be expanded to a public release in July.
In addition, iOS 26 also upgraded the battery settings by adding a full charging time on the lock screen and an intuitive color chart that reflects the energy consumption per hour or day.
The official version of iOS 26 will be released in the fall of this year, along with the launch of the iPhone 17 series.
