Binh Phuoc accelerates digital transformation in agricultural production

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang - Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Binh Phuoc province said that the province is promoting digital transformation in all 3 pillars (digital government, digital economy, digital society). In particular, the development goal by 2025 is that the digital economy strives to account for 20% of GRDP, the proportion of digital economy of each industry accounts for 7 - 10% of the total GRDP of the province. At the same time, promoting the development of information technology industry and telecommunications services (ICT), "platform digital economy" activities on the internet, and industry digital economy.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, Binh Phuoc continues to invest in upgrading digital transformation infrastructure; build and implement many policies to support businesses, cooperatives, and farm owners to carry out digital transformation in the process of production, promotion, and product consumption.

Notable among them are: Application of 4.0 technology, IoT in production, participation in e-commerce platforms, product traceability; digitalization of rural clean water irrigation, cultivation, livestock, forestry, key agricultural products (cashew, rubber, pepper, coffee, fruit trees...), OCOP products...

To date, the province has supported 5 pilot models of comprehensive digital transformation for enterprises and cooperatives. About 28 cooperatives have applied digital transformation to production and business activities. The whole province has over 1.1 million transactions on e-commerce platforms (Shopee, Sendo, Lazada, Tiki...). The Binh Phuoc Agricultural Products Exchange alone has supported 99 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households with 390 products participating in the sale on the platform.

At the workshop, delegates discussed the results of implementing pilot cooperative models of comprehensive digital transformation, especially digitalizing agricultural products and OCOP products...

Enterprises and associations also proposed to the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province policies to support digital transformation for small and medium enterprises... Especially policies on capital sources to support enterprises in implementing and applying digital transformation. In addition, it is to reduce administrative procedures to increase the efficiency of digital transformation in enterprises.
