On October 7, the Department of Information and Communications of Kien Giang province organized a rally to respond to National Digital Transformation Day and Kien Giang Digital Transformation Day on October 10. The program had the participation of a number of experts and digital technology enterprises to discuss the information security situation in digital transformation and solutions.
Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Luu Trung said that, implementing the direction of the Central Government, the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications on promoting the application of information technology, achievements of the 4.0 revolution, Kien Giang province identified digital transformation as an inevitable trend, an important and urgent solution, as a basis for building and implementing programs and plans for local socio-economic development. Digital transformation is implemented synchronously on 3 pillars: digital government, digital economy and digital society.
During the implementation process, essential information technology infrastructure serving digital transformation has been invested in a synchronous and modern direction, effectively serving the direction and administration of Party committees and authorities at all levels and handling administrative procedures for businesses and people.
According to the results of the implementation of 5 Indexes: PAR Index, SIPAS, PCI, PGI and PAPI in 2023 of Kien Giang province, the ranking results of the Public Administration Reform Index for Building and Developing e-Government and Digital Government ranked 19/63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 32 places compared to 2022. The assessment results of the Set of Indexes for Serving People and Businesses of Kien Giang province on the national public service portal by October 2024 ranked 26/63 provinces and cities, up 19 places compared to 2023.
In response to the National Digital Transformation Day 2024, the province has developed and issued a Plan to organize activities such as training and launching the movement "going to every alley, knocking on every door" for 950 community digital technology teams in the province. Thereby, combining with reviewing, praising and rewarding 23 collectives and 29 individuals with outstanding achievements in activities in residential areas; Workshop on digital platforms applied in small and medium enterprises associated with information security in digital transformation; Workshop on digital transformation for cooperatives in Kien Giang province; Organizing training to improve skills and online contests on digital transformation for youth union members of Kien Giang province...
To effectively carry out digital transformation in the coming time, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province emphasized: it is necessary to strengthen leadership, direction and do a good job of information, propaganda, dissemination, dissemination and seriously implement the policies of Party committees, authorities, businesses and people on the necessity and urgency of digital transformation, digital government, digital economy and digital society.
Promote the use and provision of digital platforms to serve people and businesses in the management of agencies and localities.
