The Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (C06, Ministry of Public Security) on April 19 piloted a solution to apply electronic identification, authentication and biometric identification to serve the procedures for boarding a plane.
The announcement ceremony took place at Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal, Ho Chi Minh City.
C06 said that the "Aviation Service" feature integrated on the VNeID application allows users with a level 2 electronic identification account to do it online, quickly and safely.
The operations of buying tickets, checking in online, passing through security control gates and boarding gates are in the form of no touching, the entire process is without procedures to board the plane.
Also according to C06, the solution of applying electronic identification, authentication and biometric identification to serve boarding procedures aims to seriously implement Conclusion No. 03-TB/BCDTW dated March 6, 2025 of the Central Steering Committee on the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, along with Directive No. 07/CT-TTg dated March 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister.
In particular, the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Public Security have been assigned specific tasks to coordinate the implementation of biometric application solutions and VNeID platforms at 100% of airports, ports, and border gates nationwide.
The Ministry of Public Security has promptly taken action, resolutely directed, flexibly coordinated, and proactively prepared for technical and system operations.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister of Public Security - said that this is just the beginning. In the coming time, the Ministry of Public Security will continue to closely coordinate with ministries, branches, localities and enterprises to expand the implementation of this solution at all airports, ports and border gates nationwide in July 2025.
At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security is also actively studying identification solutions for foreigners when entering and leaving the country, expected to be applied from June 2026 - towards the goal of synchronization and unity in the entire national digital ecosystem.
Today's event is not simply a technical implementation activity, but also a symbol of the political determination of the Ministry of Public Security for the spirit of innovation, creativity and aspiration to build a developed country based on a digital platform.
The "Smart Airport" model not only brings utilities to the people, but also is a testament to the long -term vision of the Government in the journey to build a digital government, digital society and population - in which people are centers, subjects, and the ultimate motivation and goal of all digital conversion policies.
