Ca Mau supports 5,000 businesses to digitally transform by 2030

Ca Mau synchronously implements policies, infrastructure, ecosystems, and promotes small and medium-sized enterprises to apply digital technology and AI.

Businesses gradually digitize

Ca Mau sets a target by 2030 to support at least 5,000 small and medium-sized enterprises to digitally transform, of which 3,000 enterprises apply digital technology products and solutions, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence to production and business.

Businesses will be supported to assess the level of readiness, consult, train, test and apply digital transformation solutions. The province also aims to build a group of typical small and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation in fields such as processing industry, agriculture, healthcare, trade, logistics, education and tourism.

At Bac Lieu Water Supply Joint Stock Company (BAWACO), Ca Mau province, digital transformation is identified as an important solution to innovate management methods, improve production and business efficiency and customer service quality.

Mr. Vo Minh Trang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bac Lieu Water Supply Joint Stock Company - said that the enterprise has gradually applied digital technology to many fields, thereby reducing work processing time, increasing accuracy, transparency and data exploitation capabilities.

In office work, the Company deploys Office Online, which helps to manage centralized documents, track work progress and support remote work. Business operations are digitized through electronic invoices, electronic contracts and customer management programs.

The company also uses Bravo accounting management software; deploys GIS system to manage and update water supply network data on a digital platform.

In particular, the SCADA system is applied at water plants to monitor, collect operating data of works and equipment, monitor technical parameters, promptly detect abnormalities, contributing to improving operation efficiency and controlling water supply quality.

BAWACO is testing customer care programs, checking the format of administrative documents and Party documents; and digitizing records and documents and gradually implementing remote digital signatures.

Completing the support ecosystem

Ca Mau identifies completing institutions, digital infrastructure, and human resources as key tasks. The province continues to improve the legal corridor on digital transformation, science and technology, artificial intelligence, and data; build a mechanism to select and evaluate technological solutions with connectivity and expansion capabilities.

Fixed broadband infrastructure, 5G mobile and new generation technologies are focused on in industrial parks, economic zones, serving smart production, automation, industrial Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

Along with that, businesses are supported to build digital transformation roadmaps, technical advice, technology testing and connect with research institutes, universities, investment funds, and the startup community.

Support mechanisms such as leasing - purchasing digital services, funding for technology innovation, interest rate support, and intellectual property protection are also considered. Cooperation models such as "use first - pay later", "revenue sharing", and "co-investment" are expected to help businesses reduce initial cost pressure when accessing technology.
